The only way I think it could be done at this point for bikes with shreaded belts, and some sort of reference... Model such and such, uses this belt.... what about engine case numbers? Short cases are generally easy for the 150's. They use pretty much the same belt... the mid and long cases however.... That's a challenge.

I know... I really want the 82 tho.... it's a vf750 with the really funky cluster. The later ones were funky but not as funky as the '82. I think it even has self canceling turn signals... I'm not too worried about the weight. I have ridden some scoots that are heavier... The 2006 500cc Scarebeo is like a 600lbs bike and I got used to the weight pretty quick... still a little nasty in parking lots but that was more because of the brakes. The Scarebeo has some weird brake feel... It has true ABS and the handle goes limp once the bike is stopped... it's un-nerving until you are used to it, especially the front. You just use the rear (it's linked) in parking lots very unlike my 150 where you manhandle both brake handles.

I tried 11 gram slider in mine with a Hoca 115mm variator and while it made the bike lots o fun, I took a huge hit on MPG. I put the 12 gram rollers back in. The sliders didn't make a top speed difference, but man was it smooth and it was in the powerband when rolling out of turns... very nice... Just didn't like 22mpg... LOL The rollers I get twice that...
I do want to find a nice cheap set of sliders for my 250tho... Can't wait to get that bike home... it's currently in a friends tow yard, and isn't quite road worthy yet. It needs mirros and I have to go thru the charging system. I think it's one of the wires to the ignition switch...

Like I said, I'm just a little more scared of my riding skills.... remember, this bike will still whip a modern 600cc sport bike....They are monsters.... the v65 is even more of a monster.... Same engine used in the intercepter.... It's a very smooth and linear engine from what I've read. and I like the looks, especially with a fairing... an old windjammer could be adapted and they did make hard bags for them.... riding position is suppose to be good... I'm looking at a vf700 Sabre today, gonna sit on it... see how it fits, it's a little rougher but it's registered with a clean title and he wants 500 bucks for it.... Gonna get my light touring bike afterall... ... There is one silverwing in my area, but I think he wants to much... hes asking 1500, it's a clean bike but it has over 100k on it. And it's not an interstate. It does have the trunk still tho and both seats.

I am looking at this bike..... sacramento.craigslist.org/mcd/4154930819.html Defiantly not a starter bike... but... it is tempting... The v45, vf700 and v65 had upper end oiling problems if you lugged them but.... ummm still 900 bucks.... and I even found another one even cheaper. It's suppose to be a good handling bike, but a monster... Even the v45 (750cc v-4). Working on them is well, not gonna say difficult, but it's defiantly not a gy6. You use a ratchet strap and a couple of crow bars to install the carbs... but hey.... If I can change an engine is a full size jimmy with just a tow truck, I think I can handle it. I'm more concerned about my riding skills..... But god is it tempting.... right now there are three of these bikes on craigslist all under 1000 bucks.

get a muffler on it.... It will run lean and generally not like it. I broke off a muffler on my 150, and had to ride it about 30 miles like that... lost 5mph on the top end, and it would pop on deceleration. These little engines like a little back pressure.

Yeah, it looks like a sweet little ride.... probably perfect for around town and I bet it gets some awesome fuel consumption numbers.

wonder how hard it would be to build it into something like a "Big Ruckus"

my 150 verano.... I've scrapped just going around a corner, albiet a little... ummm.... well fast.... My 250de bali, will scrape the muffler on the right pretty easily as well. The Roar I've been working will scrape, but, you have to be a little more spirited. I don't have the... ummmm anway, to take the 500 scarabeo or bv500 fast enough in turns to even come close to scraping.... The 150de Bali can lean pretty far.... The roma I rebuilt, could really lean, you just didn't have any power to roll out of the turns.
It really depends on the bike.

I cures the kick starters in these bikes.... They are always a pain, when putting the CVT cover back on... One of our project bikes just doesn't have one anymore, because we are constantly modding it. And the springs.... well they just suck....

The chinese are notorious for ripping off designs.... China is a huge copy machine.... It doesn't surprise me that the Italians would go after them nor, do I blame them.
BTW Scootnwinn, it's good to see you online. How ya feeling?
