so Ive been trying to get my scooter running for a few weeks now. it will turn over and idle, but it wont move forward. it starts to bog down at 2000-3000 rpms. I have completely broken down the carb. and thoroughly cleaned using carb cleaner. I have changed the air filter and checked for leaks, I have replaced the vacuum lines, the fuel lines, the CDI, adjusted the valves to .004 for intake and exhaust... needless to say, I am a bit burnt out with trouble shooting, and would love to be riding again. any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Have you checked your belt? If your belt broke you would not be able to move forward. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Check the airbox and tube for leaks. Check the elbow where the carb mounts for cracks or leaks. Last thing is if the diaphram is bound up under the cap of the carb or not sliding smoothly that will happen.

You can put your finger in the carb opening where the airbox tube mounts and gently lift the black tube slide up. Should be slight resistance. When you take out your finger in should promptly drop back down. On many ocassions because of the swelling of the diaphram sometimes its difficult seating the top in the grove before the lid goes on.

Have you check your compression at spark plug? Check you diapragm, mine was bogging and it turned out it wasn't sealing right, took off re-did, worked great after that.

It's a xingyue 150cc "supercharge". Had a bit of a drive through torrential downpour, thank Florida flash storms for this, but it worked fine for a few days after with not much change. Slight electrical fuzz, but no engine trouble. Replaced fuel lines/vacuum lines, and the air filter is aftermarket no box foam filter, but that was the first thing I checked after the rain. I Bought it a few months prior with an idle trouble, but fixed that myself. Not sure how to check compression, spark plug is good, but the boot is a bit loose on fitting. How do I look into that? I appreciate the feedback guys l, this is a bit tiring.

Oh, and I have replaced the fuel/vac lines, CDI, complete disassemble and clean of carb, fuel filter, and gas in tank.

You could check compression by taking out spark plug and put your thumb over the hole and crank it, it should push your thumb. and maybe get a new spark plug cap, I had trouble starting mine and it turn out to be a very loose spark plug cap, replace and worked fine.

The first thing is get a new BOOT CAP since you say it fits loose on the plug. The clips inside the boot cap that grab the plug are most likely broken and not making good contact. If you have a scooter shop near you they sell them or order one from one of our banner online dealers. When you say it does not move I assume you mean it does not go faster than say around 10mph or so since you say it bogs when it hits 3K. So it does actually move but then it bogs(IS THAT CORRECT)?. The bog comes on when you open the throttle all the way and allow a lot of air in have you tried just easing on the throttle to see if that helps the situation. Since you got caught in a rain storm have you changed out the gas, water could have gotten into the tank happens if where the tank is is not protected by anything. So if you haven't drain the tank and put in fresh gas. But it all sounds like a fuel and air problem to me. Alleyoop

It actually will not move forward, it will idle and hit 2k rpms, then bogg between 2k & 3k rpm. Without any forward movement. I will re check the cvt to see if it is the clutch, perhaps the springs rusted from the rain, or something. But I will change the plug boot as well. I did change the gas in the tank post rain situation, to see if water had gotten in. It will stay idling for however long, had it idling for 20 minutes.

Ah, ok then yes something is messed up in the CVT. Just take the CVT cover off and rev it up a little and see what does not move or if the belt sitting there doesn't look like this. Down in the Variator and UP on the Clutch pulley. Alleyoop

Well I seem to be back at square 1. Checked the clutch and it operates fine, however it does need to be changed. I have gone through every air/fuel check that I have looked up, with no prevail. I'm wondering if it could be the timing? Can the timing shift from normal use? The holes don't line up on any of the marks, I just figured it was the make of the engine being different than most gy6. Otherwise it's just idling fine with no movement. After 2k rpm, it starts to make a misfire type running bogg noise. I've even closed the air/fuel mix screw while idling with no stall or change to the idle... Only change is the dirt building up from sitting!!
