I have Shoei and Nolan modular helmets, on both I put the optional "pinlock" visor to prevent fogging. (Also helps during rain too)

A 562 Pound Pile of a Sorry Excuse for a Two Wheeled Vehicle Wussy ride. As uninspiring as riding my couch. And A Corporate Idiot actually is going to try to Market these in the US? they would be on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign if they were that clueless to the Merkin Market and worked for me. Who would be seen on that pile in the US? And there again some actually purchase a CUBE for a four well vehicle. I suppose they would be there market a Cube for a Four Wheel vehicle and a 562 Pound Couch for a Two Wheeled Vehicle. That to me is a automatic motorcycle rather than a scooter, and for what, roughly 12 grand when they get done with you? There is a guy that works at a local grocery store here in Palm Springs that just bought a beautiful Yamaha Bolt V-twin at almost 1000cc for a little over half the price.

Isn't it Karl Marx, with an "x"? Been a while since I read one of his uplifting books. Whoops. It is Carl Marx. I will see if I can correct that. Yah, and it's "Karl" with a K. Funny thing though, a lot of people can't quite figure out which "Marx Brother" wrote the unintended comedy of Das Kapital.

Heck, Piaggio left the country for a decade + at one point as the environment wasn't remotely tenable. Longer than that. Bankruptcy of Vespa's American importer due to two expensive product-liability lawsuits, increased competition from Japanese manufacturers, and certain states' passing so-called "green laws" caused a withdrawal from the US market in late 1981.
During 1981-2001, despite an absence of United States domestic sales, Vespas continued to have a core group of enthusiasts who kept vintage scooters on the road by rebuilding, restoring, and adding performance-enhancing engine parts as the stock parts would wear out.
Vespa returned to the US market in 2001 with a new, more modern style ET series, in 50 cc two and four stroke, and 150 cc four-stroke
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VespaI don't see how scooters will sell when they're anonymous. I see Harley and Indian ads all over NASCAR. There are enough small networks all over the thousand channels that something should be affordable to advertise. Kymco advertised in Cycle World magazine for a year or so. I see pop up ads for Powersportsmax all the time on my computers, of all things. Occasionally Parts for Scooters too. I'm betting that the Chinese prosper from rentals in Tourist Cities causing people to think about buying one when they get home. Connecticut is crawling with 50cc scooters from the dealers there. Which is why I ended up with a 125 Elite in 1984. But I still think Vespa's are way overpriced, in the 1960's you could buy one for about the same price (adjusted for inflation.) As today's Kymco.

Oh, their just waiting for Tesla motors to come out with a self-driving long range electric Motorcycle that can download all their favorite apps and iTunes...Lol! Oh, Spandi... You are SOOOO right!!! Have a bone on the Old Chopper Guy! I don't even pretend to understand the modern generation. I guess my demographic migrated toward things on wheels that made a lot of noise because we didn't have electronic toys... OOHHH... The cackle of a flathead Ford with a cam (be STILL my beating heart) the thunder of a Hog with straight-pipes... The scream of a 2-stroke kart motor at 20K rpm... The crack of a short-barreled .44 magnum pulled from yer' pants... And yes, even the mundane pop of a one-lung scoot as it goes faster and faster at the same rpm with its magic CVT tranny... Now electronic stuff can DEFINITELY be cool... (WHAT is cooler than a DRONE?). No argument there. But c'mon guys... Sweeping into the parking lot and sauntering off of a sweet 2 (or 3-wheel) ride STILL offers thrills a screen full of mega-pixels just cannot. When ya' haul yer' ride over and feel metal scrape tarmac, it just makes a guy or gal feel "alive" and "in-contact with the road..." No pun intended... HeHeHe... When I do that on Minnie, I tell her I'm just tickling her tummy to let her know I lover her... I still get more kick out of looking at Minnie Mouse's fishtail exhaust and light-up goose on her nose than searching a smart phone for some number I don't recall... Just me...Oh well, we ALL have SOMETHING that "blow our dress up"... LOL! Just make mine something that burns gasoline instead of kilowatts...Leo (well aware that "if it uses gas or lipstick, it WILL eventually give you trouble"...) in Texas Thanks Leo, but "youngins" today really don't care about car culture much ( if at all) they look at a vehicle as a way to get from point A to point B. Besides why would you actually VISIT someone when you can see them on Skype? So I guess that just leaves us to remember the good old days of blue smoke LOL! ( Still dreaming of owning the "Boothill Express" though!)... Or anything by Big Daddy Roth.

If I were looking for a new scooter, the freeway capable under five grand Kymco would be at the top of the list. (Hard to beat both practicality and style.)

Why play around with this? Get a 250 and you won't have to waste time and money modifying something you'll outgrow anyway. Just start sharpening your mechanical "chops" on doing a through pdi first, and maybe upgrading some of the parts on the scoot as well. (All in all, good training for owning, riding, and maintaining a motorcycle later.)

when a fuse blows, it's all or nothing, it doesn't "sometime work". my 250 only had one fuse, and when it blew it removed all power, no lights, horn, signals, nothing. electrical problems can be a real bear to diagnose, especially intermittents, like you are experiencing. my guess is one of the many connectors is at fault, or you might have a frayed wire that is intermittently grounding, but not enough to blow any fuses. That what I was thinking, a short somewhere... The only problem now is using the old multimeter to test for continuity.

Say what you and the rest of the world says about the stella 150,,I've been nothin but pleased build quality ( except for the natural rubber body seals and chafing strips),, so its hotter than here in socal and I'm running to the supermarket for a honey get list and I no ticedvthe ol girl is feeling a little sluggish,,, do when I get to the store I pull them engine side cover and the restrictor plate which I thought i cut away earlier in life turned itself around and was restricting the throttle and everthing,, when new I jettisoned the original tool kit for an enhanced snaponv1/4 drive set with all snap on pliers etc blah blah blah,,, so I removed all the offending BS and let me tell you what,,a real live scooter emerged,,, more to come You know with C.A.R.B. here in California our scoots are practically strangled with EPA add-ons, so it's no surprise to get marginal performance. BTW, it's hot alright. We hit 118 here in Palm Springs. (Hope that "honeydew" list was short.)

In the internet age, I rely much more on the feedback and reviews from people who ALREADY OWN the product I'm interested in. Consumer reports simply cannot keep pace with today's fast charging markets.

It's gotta be Klinger, he's section 8 material with a gun. Besides, with his first name he was the original "Mad Max"

I run an am63 Avon Viper Stryke up front and a steel belted Pirelli Diablo in back. Cheap tires just aren't worth the hassle. (or potential danger)
