....Better pack your lunch. (This might take awhile) No need to pack my lunch, I would take the lunch you left in the bike! In this theorized scenario I would be cutting the chain, not melting it, even if I wanted to melt it oxyacetylene burns at about 6,330 deg F/3,500 deg C ., way past the melting point of boron. X_However when talking about an oxyacetylene torch cutting the melting point is irrelevant as melting is not what makes the cut, it is the reaction from the heated metal to the oxygen what makes the real strong heat that cuts the metal itself. all you have to do is heat the metal unit it is glowing red then press the oxygen level and cut away. I have never cut boron myself and dont know anyone that has but the melting point of it is irrelevant at least in theory. Someone send me a piece of that chain and I will make a video! Well in they really wanted it a Plasma cutter would make short work of any chain. More than likely they'd just use the far noisier battery powered angle grinder anyway. You're best bet would be a good quality lock and a tracking unit hidden within. (difficult to steal something when both the owner and the cops know where to look for it.)

I was able to get it started and and drive it home. No lights work besides the head light. Kickstart only. The craziest part to me is that they only had it for 36 hours! They did actually fix one thing lol. I'm having a hard time finding plastics online. I'm getting a kryptonite lock using a bike lock for the interm. Who did you buy it from? I was able to get replacement plastic through the dealer even though they discontinued carrying that model.

Well if the Chinese wish to up their game, they're going to have to take a hard learned lesson from the Japanese playbook (something that is slowly underway regardless) in terms of after sales servicing. But it will probably mean the phasing out of "cheap" Chinese scooters as they go for more mainstream respectability.

I have the roar, 2014' mine has a horizontal engine. I guess I'm happy with it. only have 500 mi on it does seem to have plenty of power, not very happy with powerrideoutlet though. they don't seem to give a crap about helping with things once you get the scooter.
As I've stated many times before, with most dealers of the Chinese product, once they have your cash if you wish to see your warranty and service department look in the mirror.

One of those headband mounted flashlights (like a miner wears) so both hands are free to fix what is broken, plus the light is always shining where you are looking. Petzl LED are best. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll be going with the Pixa 3 (at several ERT / Rescue supply sites it seems to be in standard use.)

Spandi, I don't think many scooter riders who never rode old-school motorcycles realize just how BIG some scooters are! A typical "Asian style" Chinese 150 is usually around 56 - 59" wheelbase, weighing around 225 pounds. The typical "smallish" 250's like mine resemble the Chinese 150's and have a wheelbase of maybe 59 - 60" and weigh around 350 pounds. The BIG touring scoots may be a foot or so longer, weigh up to 1,000 pounds and be bigger than most large motorcycles. For reference, my old 1970 Harley Electra-Glide had a 60" wheelbase if I recall, and weighed around 900 pounds. My Kymco Grandvista 250 is approximately the same size as my old full-size Harley! The big touring scooters are BIGGER than most full-sized touring cycles. They are HUGE! Something to consider... Leo in Texas This I can well appreciate. When friends were told I was getting a "Scooter" they must have imagined a tiny thing with a lawn mower engine. When I showed up and told them to look outside, they couldn't find it, so I pointed it out and the reply was "That Motorcycle?"

I think you are on the right track to assume scooter popularity rises with crowded roads and expensive fuel prices. Lack of available parking space and rising parking costs also increases their popularity. -I think CA is the only state where white lining is legal. It was back when I lived there. -We don't get a lot of forum members from Europe and Asia because scooters are so common there. They have their own forums on other continents for their enthusiasts. Yep, in the home of PC you can at least "filter"

Those are large bags... Bigger then what's on my Goldwing, and bigger then what's on the Scrabeo. Yes U.M. but when I go grocery shopping I use every cubic inch of it, and get it home in one shot. (including the 8 big roll package of Paper towels)

Spandi,
Those look GREAT on your long scooter! My old "Minnie Mouse" is only slightly bigger than a 150 so the "dainty" size bags look "right". That's a BIG scooter! Looks like it must be the bomb for comfortable cruising! I'll bet THOSE bags DO hold a load: they're BIGGER than the bags on my last Harley dresser! Enjoy! Leo Thank you Leo, there are several reasons the bags look so good on that scoot. (Sorry about any mixup, allow me to clarify) A) That's a Suzuki Burgman B) It ain't mine! (Rats!) C) But my Chinese scoot is only about 2 1/2" less in wheelbase length (just shy of 60 inches, or 7 feet long for the whole scoot) so the bags still work out. The Znen ZN250T-D (although not a picture of MY scooter, it is the same model)

Well Kat, after the neighbors saw me pull up and unload bag after bag of groceries, they joked about me driving a "Clown Car"

I was thinking that Duplicolor being an automotive clear coat probably has UV inhibitors in it anyways. But yes, post pictures of your work.
