So its pretty messed up;
2014 TaoTao Thunder with 1400 on the chinameter
Plastic around ignition broken Ignition destroyed / removed Spray painted (lights and all) Air snorkel broken / removed at airbox Baffels and rear of exhaust removed Some damage to brake lever Seat latch broken Gas cap missing
How in the do I get this thing started? I'm guessing the starter button is out of the mix so kickstart only right? It should just start? Right? Wrong. So I'm thinking it is to much air to the airbox. I'm going to duct tape over the air box and punch some holes in it. Any other things to try of common recovered scooter tricks to get her back on the road?
Thanks guys. I've been lurking on the old site for a while, learned a bunch, but this is my first post worthy experience. Pics to follow.

I'm guessing you'd at the very least need to get the ignition repaired so you have an electric current to start it up. Maybe you could hot wire it until you replaced it.

I am sorry to say that for all the trouble involved you may be better off replacing it with a new one saving the old one for parts. I will presume there is no theft insurance on the bike however if it was stolen from your home you may be able to get your homeowners policy to cover it if it was on the property and not out on the street the same as if someone stole your lawnmower from your shed or damaged/vandalized other property.
Sometimes you are much better off not getting them back once they've been stolen.

My scoot was damaged in a rear end accident. It caused about $900 in damage in all. If I did all the work on my own, maybe half that amount.
It's all a matter of dollars. If you want to fix it, parts are readily available. If it will cost more than you want to spend, you need to sell it and find a replacement. That's pretty much what it comes down to. The parts that were actually damaged beyond repair should be replaced, not fixed on-the-cheap, as they will just become problems further down the road.

Sorry to hear your scoot was stolen: I have had three (3) stolen and never heard a word about them. I now use heavy chains and surveillance cameras when home: Chain and alarm when away (still trying to keep a line of sight if possible). Too easy to steal....

Sounds like a really mixed bag, mostly bad news. I assume you didn't have any insurance on it. I have full coverage on mine from Geico and only cost $1 a day. I think if you surf around you will find almost every part you could want or need. Just a matter of ordering the right one. I guess I am morbidly curious what all the damage looks like, if you could post pictures.

it is hard go measure from here but list what you need, look in ebay for parts to get an idea of how much you will be spending, look in craiglist for parts bikes, you can get those for close to $100 or less depending on what is your ability to haggle. it might be cheaper to get the part bike but keep in mind, the parts are used and yours is a new bike. Ultimately, you might be better off getting a new bike and using the one you got back to sell for parts/repair or keep it yourself for parts for the new one down the road. I am sorry this happened to you. The only thing that worries me more that have my "new to me " stolen is for my step son to get hit while using it. Make it harder for them next time. Chain one side of the frame with a thick chain and other side of the frame with a good cable, 2 separate locks. When they see all that trouble they might pass it on by....

I was able to get it started and and drive it home. No lights work besides the head light. Kickstart only. The craziest part to me is that they only had it for 36 hours! They did actually fix one thing lol. I'm having a hard time finding plastics online. I'm getting a kryptonite lock using a bike lock for the interm.

I was able to get replacement plastic through the dealer even though they discontinued carrying that model.
