The Keihin's I have I have been getting good feedback on them for quite some time and they have been coming from the same factory. Here is a picture of it. I can most of the time price match with US sellers. John Send me a PM on bulk pricing.

Hey gang, Can someone recommend a good STOCK replacement for a 150cc GY6 that has a PD24J carb? What exactly I am wanting is a stock 24mm carb, with the highest quality.... By quality, I mean some have screws that are soft as butter and make working on the thing impossible without using screw extractors. Others may have sub-par materials for the float or needle tip, weak diaphragm etc etc.... I am also not wanting to go outside of the stock dimensions. I'm not wanting to add a manual choke and want to use the enricher. Name brand would be nice. Doing my own search, I came across a Keihin 24mm, but I know Keihin is one of the most widely cloned and I don't know how to identify a genuine Keihin. What is the best "stock", PD24J you have came across?

You can mount it with one of these: Motorcycle Handlebar clamp (If you have access to your handlebars that is... some of mine are bare)

Taotao is at the lower end of quality, yes. What you have to understand about TaoTao is that you are getting "exactly" what you paid for. With that said, you will find many users of this board who love their TaoTao's.. I recently picked up another TaoTao. A quantum tour... I personally don't mind wrenching on stuff. So, I'm going to overhaul mine before I start riding, but out of the box I'm sure you're likely to get a few 1000 miles and you have a decent scoot to build on... $600.00 for a brand new high quality scooter is not realistic IMO. I'm not even sure if a Honda, Kymco or Yamaha dealer would let ya in the door LOL You may be able to buy a used name brand scoot for 600, but ya never know what you're actually getting..... Also, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sell ya on a TaoTao.. . Just letting you know what I think your options are within your budget. But there's a lot members on this forum and someone may have a link to something higher quality within your budget

I am looking to buy a new scoot, or used scoot, and I want it delivered to me. What are my options? Last time I bought a scoot I got it off a friend for $350. Now I have a budget of $600. I may be able to go a little over budget but I am trying to save for other things as well. Lain, I checked all the stores I have bookmarked. None currently are offering a scooter to the door for $600.00. Close, but not the $600 mark. Back around Christmas I picked up 3 TaoTao ATM-50's for $599.99 to the door. As far as I know, the TaoTao ATM-50 is presently the cheapest drop shipped, brand new scooter (generally speaking as some sales may beat the ATM's price)... I found the ATM-50 for around $695.00, but that is the "to the door price". Saferwholesale.com link to ATM-50Killermotorsports.com link to ATM-50I have only ordered from Killer, not safer wholesale.... I can say this about killer, one of my scooters had damaged plastic when it arrived and they shipped it out replacements to me in 5 days and the MCO's are free. Shipping only took 6 business days from the time I placed the order.

gy6 150cc chinese scoot, less than 1000 miles on engine Idle is great and runs great at light throttle but at 1/2 and up and especially WOT it feels weak and may sputter (you can both hear and feel the sputter, like a misfire), power is down too, not bogging just not quite as strong as usual. I read this is classic over rich condition but unsure. problem is that this is intermittent. It runs great for a couple months then craps out like this for a few days, the problem always seems to fix itself, and I forget about it for a while until it happens again. there is no rhyme or reason (not related to fuel level, weather or anything else I can figure). But its happening now so just wondering what could cause intermittent running like its rich, or maybe hints on what the problem might be if not actually running rich. Just out of curiosity, what style of scooter do you have? Do you have a gas tank in your floorboard or under your seat?

I had the same problem with them stupid frackin screws!
My handle bars were leaning back too far when I purchased my scoot, I raised em up and that made my switches in a screwed up orientation... When I went to re-position them, I stripped 3, of the 4 screws out, and that was with using a Makita impact gun...
It's that cheap a__ metal (chinesium) they use... These screw heads are soft as butter... Almost as bad as the tamper proof carb screws.

Which do u have that say use 87 ? You need to learn how to read, DM is stating his SCOOTERS say to use PREMIUM FUEL hundred thousands of scoots, 50s, 150s or 250s+ I have never seen or heard of one that say to USE PREMIUM FUEL. So inquiring mines would like to know maybe there is something I DO NOT KNOW and will learn something new..LOL What I have does not say to use premium fuel. The only thing that I have that requires Premium Fuel is my 1998 Eldorado, I just traded in my 2001 STS which also took Premium and got the SRX SUV which take regular I'm going give you the respect of a reply, but I don't want to get drug into a debate over this. Click this Link ... That will take you to my Bintelli Havoc User Manual. Download the manual, pg 12. I'm not asking you to jump through hoops, it will take under 60 seconds. Like LAIN, also, everyone of the 8 scooters I presently have in my shop have a sticker from the factory instructing users to USE Grade (or higher on others).... It's very cold in my shop right now, but I can if you really insist provided pictures from all 8 of the scooters. Or I can link to all the user manuals... I've read many user manuals, they all call for premium. It's the combustion process of the Higher Octane fuel that in effect causes the lower engine temps. The Nature of higher octane creates a RICHER condition and that effect brings the temps Down. These scooters are calibrated from the Factory to run on higher octane. Lowering the octane makes the fuel burn more lean causing the engine to burn hotter.... This is not some academic argument where opinions count. These are facts based in science and physics.

I see some people are debating this issue, so no-one bother to quote or reply to me in this thread. I'm going to state my thoughts on the matter, if you disagree, more power to ya but I'm not going to debate what I know as fact. Fact: Higher Octane burns cleaner, Allows higher RPM's and it burns cooler. Everyone of my scooters are stamped saying run premium fuel. Now, my thoughts and opinions. If your out and about and happen to get a gallon of regular (86,87 octane), you'll be fine. Me, I only run Octane. Comparing a GY6 to Briggs and Stratton is silly. Most lawn mower motors have way lower RPM's.

A DVM for checking the OHM/Volt readings on the electrical system.... Very informative man,,thanks!!! Love anything GY6!!! BTW-How much did you pay for the seal puller anyway $75?,,didn't fee like googling it,,was going to get the HF one....lol I paid around $150.00 for the Draper oil removal/install seal kit. There are many kits that are cheaper and I'm a big fan of Harbor Freight supplies, but oil seals are one them them cheap things that if not installed correctly can cause big headaches down the road... It analogous to Snap-On and Craftsman.... I paid a little extra for the name, but there is no higher quality than Draper... (BTW, the Oil seal kit isn't just for the GY6, it can be used on almost all vehicles). I forgot to add my electronic tools and plugs to the Video... You're right, a Volt meter is a must!!!

Very good idea here and I hope all will add to this. JR Very soon I hope to get a video up showing the Taida case boring tools in action. For anybody who has not watched the Video yet, this particular video features Taida case boring tools, for both the 125/150cc "a" case (54mm) and the "b" case (57mm) ... These are pretty rare tools and I don't know of any other Youtube Video's that illustrate them. The Draper oil seal remover is very nice as well! -------------------------- A tool I don't have and don't know how to use is a chain breaker, anyone have experience with these?

Hey guys, I was just wheeling my scoot around shoveling around it and stuff and noticed a LOT of resistance from the back, and major squeeking like the brake is engaged. The lever seems like it has lost it's springyness though. It feels like a lot more pressure than before and when I let go the lever doesn't spring back. What do I do? Holy crap! I just noticed your in Boston, don't you guys have like 12 foot of snow right now? Your brakes may just actually be frozen (not seized).... Try applying heat (not with a torch)... Maybe a blow dryer or heat shrink gun??? What is the temperature of the scooters location?

2013 Tao Tao 50ccWorth buying to flip, or would i be regretting the purchase? I suppose it comes down how much it'll cost to repair, and how reliable Tao Tao is. I don't need another scooter, and i don't want to spend a lot of money improving it, ie replacing belts, hoses, etc, just fix the immediate problem and reassemble the body. As others have pointed out, you can get a brand new ATM-50 for quite cheap. However, if instead of fixing it up, you could part it out and sell the parts on ebay, I bet you could turn it into a nice flip.... I would not buy it to fix up, but if the add is accurate and all the parts are there, you could easily double your money without fixing anything. Part it out.
