Hey gang, I think you guys missed the mark on the response. Florida never said he was seeking performance gains, he's just wanting his carb facing forward... A lot of people do this with Ruckus's.... There's a company called CompoSimo.... They manufacturer a plethora of intake risers, spacers and clocking flanges. Florida, this is a link to the product I suspect you want. Angled clocking flange Running a forward facing carb, and having problems with how high the carburator sits? Some carbs have a problem when angled too high in the front, and this can cause the engine to not run right, and have problems feeding fuel properly! Before (Without Flange): After (With Flange): This flange also turns the carb in more to the center of the bike so that when running a fat tire setup, the carb doesn't hit the frame, and when running a normal wheel, having the carb centered gives the bike a much nicer look... It also more importantly angles the carb down a bit so that the fuel can sit more level in the bowl, and you can have a much better running motor!

Hey dmartin95 - now that ANOTHER ancient thread has been resurrected, how did the scooter rentals work out? It failed before it ever got off the ground... There's a lot of insurances and licensing fee's and Yadda, yadda, Yadda... For my area, (Michigan) it being a seasonal thing and all, it just wasn't worth it. But I can give you all an update on what became of all 3 of them. I sold all 3 of them (to different customers) to the tune of $900 each. Only advertising method was Craigslist.... I made $300 Profit off of each one. I sold them in the Spring time after doing really good PDI's and having them run perfect. Assembly of these scooter are super simple, but there's a lot of quirks that required fixing. If someone is thinking of going this route to make some extra cash, just know ahead of time, you will need to be mechanically inclined. If you are mechanically inclined and have the storage space, it's a pretty good way to make a little bit of extra coin. To summarize, rental was a no go but still wasn't a bust.

Yummy! I'll be in contact with you about that early next year, thanks! Your welcome.... I have been giving thought to ordering a few of the -3 type of crankshafts and just selling the entire stroker, instead of just the rod... Only problem is, I do not have a good connection on your style of crank.... Do you know how to change the rod?

Good to hear from you Dan, great job on this build! Thanks! I have been staying busy these days building engine after engine.... You still have your 16" wheel scooter with the BN157QMJ-3 engine? I recall you couldn't find a stroker for it? Has that changed? Look what I now have access to...

Hey Everybody, RCQ provided me a link to this thread so I thought I would just stop in and say hi to everyone and say what an awesome thread this is....I've been very busy with work and haven't had much time to visit other forums and don't know how soon I'll check back in, but if anyone has any questions, you can find a link to my forum by clicking on the friends list here at it'stheride... Or, you can send me a personal message on this forum, I will get a notification in my email.
In case you haven't realized by my handle, I am Dan Martin, owner of Martin Mopeds LLC, the person who assembled RCQ's engine. This engine was a fun build.... I build a lot GY6's, but Taida's are always the coolest.

Thanks! What I really love about it is you can use quality Material Like Fel-Pro, or Mr. Gasket.... Top of the line stuff.... The other day, Advance Auto sent me 25% of coupon with a $10.00 Gift card If you spend over $100.00. In addition, they had free shipping... Suffice to say, I stocked up on the stuff and will be offering premium gaskets, individually and kits on my web store. Anyhow, thanks for the bone and glad ya liked the video!

Hey gang,
Want to make your own gaskets using top of the line supplies? Are you someone who only settles for "the best?
Well, My wife (Kelly) has a CriCut. It's an automated cutting device... You can use it for making Vinyl Graphics, Painting masking templates, Holiday cards and really, whatever else your creative mind can come up with. My latest idea was gaskets!
What you need is the following:
Using Fel-Pro or Mr. Gasket, Gasket material found at any auto store or online
Computer and a Scanner (or download the file)
A CriCut (12x24 mat required for CVT)
So, if you know someone that has a CriCut, this is a perfect way to make your own gaskets.
Kelly helped me make this Video, I've never used the CriCut before and that's her area of expertise...She Takes over the Video at about the half way point.

and im not worried about the high/low function as long as they work. They wouldn't work. The ones you linked to have positive and negative terminals at the bottom of the base (at least I'm pretty sure) ... You need ones that both terminals are positive and the base of the bulb is the ground.

Yah search BA20D on ebay, and alot pop up. Dont know which one to try yet. Pleasel let me know once you order and try something out. I have the same scoot and want better lighting. I don't have any plans on upgrading to LED headlights on the Quantum tour.... Instead, I will just get two, High quality Halogens for this particular scooter... Most all of my other scooters have received HID lighting... But the Quantum's housing is so small and get so little air exposure, I'm too concerned with heat... HID's get hot.... The cree bulbs you linked to I do not think will work... They are on/off bulbs I think, not Hi/Low... That's what I was meaning by some may have the same BA20D base, but will function differently. In the picture I'm linking to, the two dots on the bottom of the Bulb function as positive and negative... You need a BA20D where the base of the bulb is the ground and the two dots (connection points) are both positive... Their functions will be to activate different element angled differently to provide hi or low beam direction.

He has a quantum tour, both of his head lamp bulbs are in the same housing and two H4's would melt his housing. --------------------------------- CaptainJeff, I too have a quantum tour. Your head lamp bulbs are BA20D... Do a search using Keywords "BA20D LED" ... The really good ones are cree based. Here, I did a search on ebay, click this linkMake sure you get one that has Hi/Lo feature... Some may have the same base, but not the same function.

This is the style I got for myself.... I can use it on both, the 50cc or 150cc... I've used it about 25 times, it's quite reliable!
