I like it but 7,000 pounds it seems a bit heavy for such a tiny vehicle.

Yep. Just pray your battery never leaves you stranded. I would have kept my kick starter, but the teeth on the end of the shaft were stripped and I didn't want to pay for a new one at the time.

I found the specs in my owners manual for front/rear wheel. Theyre both 80ft lbs. My 139qmb manual says 28 ft/lbs variator, and 40 ft/lbs clutch.

I took the kick starter off of my 150cc with no problems. I put a piece of duct tape over the inside of the shaft hole to keep out water and dirt. Thanks, so you removed both shafts between the variator and clutch? from this: to this: it is safe, correct? I'll have to cover the hole too, but not sure about duck tape... lol, maybe I'll make a cap using an old wine cap or something You're welcome. Yes. I took out the whole kick starter assembly.

Hi All, I figure while I wait for the new variator to come in I would open her up and try to fix the kick start since I have never been able to use it. So I put the kickstart lever on and with my hand I try to rotate to see what is going on and I grease a couple of the gears. I try to move it again and the whole things falls out.... Now I do not care for it since I never been able to use it anyway but can it stay out or I need it for the variator to work? I cant see or understand why not, but i figures i would ask the experts. I removed both of the shaft since one fell out... and with both shaft out... I think it looks much better like this IMO, just want to make sure it works with no issues I took the kick starter off of my 150cc with no problems. I put a piece of duct tape over the inside of the shaft hole to keep out water and dirt.

What are the torque specs for my rear wheel? My beam style torque wrench goes up to 75 lbs. Can i break loose the 17mm nut on my rear wheel without a impact gun? Im thinking about using a breaker bar to get the nut off. I will put it back on with a craftsman torque wrench that goes up to 75lbs. Also, what are the torque specs for my variator and clutch? Its a 2011 gmw m1 50cc converted to 100cc. On the Bintelli Sprint 50cc I think it's 80 ft/lbs for the rear wheel nut. I don't have specs handy right now for the variator and clutch.

I have a 50cc gy6 with a rear drum cable operated brake. It is possible to put a hydro brake back there and also install a rear rim that accepts disk? I yes

Another thing to check is the oil pump. If the oil was really low , the oil pump could have burned up causing the scoot to overheat even more. It only takes seconds for the oil pump to go burn up . my scoot fell over when I hit the deer and the scoot ran for seconds with no oil , and it burned up. Luckily I had a temp gauge and noticed it right away. Oil pump is very easy to check. Take thavalve cover off . make sure the scoot has oil, and turn the scoot over . oil should flow to the cam and rockers if the oil pump is working. I still can't get my leakdown tester working well. I have a tiny compressor tank, one of those "pancakes", and when I turn the regulator down to 90psi, it lets out most of the air and what's left is pretty useless. Maybe I should get a bigger compressor or an auxiliary tank, IDK.

I had the belt brake on me already 3 times in like 3k miles. The last time it broke I replaced everything but the variator, see first post, including clutch. only thing I did not replace was the variator. First belt broke after installing variator. I am not sure if it is the variator and perhaps it is just a coincidence, but my belt broke after installing the variator and I replaced everything since but the variator so I will give that a try. I agree. When the variator wears the boss bushing out a bit, I think it wobbles and shreds the belt. I just saw the picture of the variator though, and it looks like it has spun on the belt as others have said, but you said you have a new clutch, right?

On my own scoot, I charged the battery and warmed up the engine. then I shut it off. Weeee! hahaha! On another scooter I recently did a top end rebuild, checked the oil pump, gave it a new variator, belt, and fuel filter, cleaned the carb, adjusted the valves, welded a broken muffler bracket, and will put on a new clutch this weekend. That was my first real top end rebuild and I have my fingers crossed that I did everything right. (I feel almost like a real scooter mechanic now!) It smokes a little but I hear that might just be the rings seating. I sure hope so, because I guaranteed the rebuild and I'd hate to have to redo it.

Wow im not getting mileage anywhere near that, 60ish at best on my 150 I've had 100 KPG, which was about 62 MPG on my 150. That's about as good as it got for me. I have to agree about the servicing. I'd open up the CVT and check my belt and rollers, but if the thing is running strong and getting good MPG then I'd probably leave the spark plug and maybe the valve adjustment for later too.

You put it in perpendicular to the floor, slide it in till the holding tabs on the side are all the way in the case, turn it parallel go the floor, then pull it forward till it stops. This did not work. Its a 50cc gy6 4 stroke chinese engine. ***I accidentally took both the chain tensioner bolts off, removing it without first undoing the 10mm bolt removing the spring. Then i took the cylinder head off. Would this be an issue? Is my chain guide broken? Did any part of it break off when I removed it? Can you identify it as being whole? I just rebuilt a 50cc 139qmb. I had to put the guide tabs in the slot in the cylinder, then the head gasket covers the slot where you put the tabs into. Then the head goes on and secures it.

Ok I just bought a 2008 "sunny 50" scooter. Further research showed its a gy6 139qmb. Bought it knowing it wasn't quite working right sure but it sounded to me like it just had bad gas and a dirty carb. So I drained the 3 year old gas. Hosed the carb down and it starts just fine. All sounds good and twist the throttle it sounds great....while its on the center stand that is. Once the back tire hits the ground it won't go. Idles fine but give it gas and it just barely gives a small tug. That's it, didn't matter where I place the air mix screw at that's all I get. Going to pull the carb off and tear it down and clean it real good. What I'd like to know is this. My first time with a gy6 carb, any thing I should keep an eye for? And any ideas of what else it could be in this situation? Coil maybe? It tugs and dies, or it tugs and the engine keeps zipping along while the wheel doesn't move?

Those look great on your bike. The gauges are very cool too. Such a nice looking scooter. Very classy. What is "Buckeyes"? Is that a dealership?

What we want to do is to find a way to differentiate ourselves from the internet guys. We are in an area with several colleges, where scooters can be ridden almost every day year round. We'll be able to provide financing, even some after-market F&I products like warranties and roadside assistance. But, man, it looks like the cream of the crop provide some great PDI work. We want to be those people. So, I'm looking at the stuff that can really make a difference. It seems you already have the right idea. I am writing a care pamphlet to note the importance of regular maintenance.
