I use snow boarding pants , a few upper layers , full face the hat that only exposes your eyes and tucks under your collar . I have the gerbings jacket liner , gloves and insoles . If I could do it over I would have gotten the hybrid stuff not the straight 12v plug in . In general dress for the temp of the day , then cover with wind breakers/rain gear . Keep your torso warm and yo can make it . Someone told me if your torso is cool or cold it slows the circulation to your arms and legs . I have danced around the cold quite a bit . On the coldest days I have a one piece snow suite , a pair of sweat paints sweatshirt , heated jacket liner , heated gloves and insoles . I go outside start up the chinese 150 plug in only turn on the gloves let them get hot , then 1/4 power on the jacket liner . I have a 9 mile ride takes min 25 minutes without any congestion , 2 hwy's one bridge over the east river . I have done this 0 degrees . I use the chinese because I do not trust the vespa's charging system . Its a lot cheaper to repair the chinese then the vespa . John I def need to get something to cover my chin and neck area . that's one of the only places that does get very cold " almost hurts at times from being so cold " . my outer vest I wear zips up and covers my neck but it does nothing for the underneath of my chin . I'm gonna have to get some kinda mask that tucks in under my clothes. I could probably break down and buy a heated jacket and gloves but for now Ill see how long I can go without . I just ordered one of these. Can't beat the price. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006IL02OY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had lamb's wool covers in my VW Beetle and loved them. I can see them being a great seat cover. One of the first differences I noticed between my ZNEN and my Vespa P200E was the seat. The ZNEN has the same padding most of the Chinese scoots have, which is fine for my 150lbs, but what's underneath the Vespa seat makes all the difference. It looks like this : I notice a big difference after a long ride. The bumps aren't so jarring and I don't feel as tired. It doesn't bottom out. It's probably 3x as heavy as my Chinese seat, but worth it. Perhaps a retrofit of something similar? Man that looks downright comfortable! Lay-Z-Boy of scooter seats?

Haven't thrown a girl on it yet but it looks pretty comfortable back there on my CF Moto. That does look like a comfortable seat

My problem is more back pain than soreness from the seat.
I just figured more padding would help that and the rough seat. Maybe some upgraded shocks too....

Chime in any and everyone!
I've Googled any and every thing I can to try to find a more comfortable seat for my VIP 150cc scoot and haven't found squat. It's not the right model for a flagship seat but there's GOT to be something more comfortable out there than the stock seat with 1/2" or less of padding....

I've had good luck with the above article on both my scoots.

Well I tried the CDI's in a friends scooter that was running a CDI from Scrappy Dogs and neither worked in it. Guess I just got some bad ones.

No I haven't. I've mainly been looking at Scrappy Dogs for parts, and amazon as well.

I would not drill it out like in the Video I would drill a 1/16 hole in the center then get a small pointed wood screw and screw that in and the plug will start to turn and then work it out. You can get what you need here: Alleyoop www.cv-performance.com/cvp-mixture-screw-packing/And they go in this order just make sure there is not a washer and o-ring already in there: Thanks!!

In my experience, even with one of the "Racing" CDIs, the bike will fire over just fine with a stock engine. In fact my P139qmb engines first mod was the blue racing CDI, red hot coil, and a good plug. Note that I use electric start on all my bikes though. Make sure your battery is good and fully charged and try to crank it over again with the racing CDI. Also check all the pins in the plugs on those racing CDIs, sometimes they come lose. I've had zero luck getting either to fire. Maybe I should've taken my own advice and spent a little extra to get em from Scrappy Dog Scooters instead of a cheapie from amazon lol

Can you put up the links of the CDIs you bought? If they are performance CDIs they will have a fixed advanced timing in other words the plug will fire early and it may be that they are to advanced. But yes if your carbs have a plugged Fuel Mixture screw they are most likely set to LEAN to pass emissions, you can drill out the plugs to get at the mixture screw behind it and save yourself some bucks. Alleyoop Here is a Video drilling out the plug: Where do I get the spring they used? Is it just a spring out of a pen? I did wonder about the being too advanced part but after getting it to fire on the 150 the way I did, I figured it was just lacking fuel.

Sadly I don't have anything to test with. Would it have run at all if the CDI were wrong?
