50cc mopeds do not go 60mph. I suspect your blinker switch is shorted, unplug it see if the light goes out.

John, the Stator diameter is 3 and 7/16 inch. 2 holes, 1 and 5/8 from centers. Harv. Read more: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/10509/stator-cdi-wiring#ixzz4C99yr895I have a different approach this go round. I'm thinking to more standardized parts. Go with the 11 pole stator the HP coil and an AC CDI, add a section of harness to make it all work. What did you buy from me back then? I don't remember. John

where are you getting parts from? are you able to get tech help from the vendors?

If it starts cold on electric, and hot on kickstart, it's most likely valves out of adjustment, but could be a loose connection or thermal short. Valves would be my first check. As for loose connections, I once had a plug boot that became loose (never buy those "performance" coils, they have a spring clip inside that can come out without noticing), and it would start with the kickstart, but not electric. I can only assume that the kicking moved the scooter enough to jostle it into connecting. It would occasionally sputter at high speeds, which had me chasing fuel issues for two weeks till I finally discovered it was the boot by swapping in my old stock one. I'm leaning towards valves. could be pair or egr related. John

open the fan cover, measure the diameter and show me a picture of the plug with the wires.

The pulse coil is a very low voltage, and will only produce a voltage while the engine is cranking. .3vac-2.5vac
I have worked on this style trike it had dc cdi. Check the red/black wire on the cdi for 12vdc when kill switch is in the run position and the key in the run position.

what does the regulator look like? I rely more on voltage check than resistance when testing a stator. To answer the question above the stator will mount.does not mean it will work.

I use a socket to tap out the seal. It would be a challenge with one hand.

Hey john, sorry about jackin your thread but i remember you talking about getting one (pre order i think?) Do you have a link to you're "look what i got" thread? Been way too busy and kinda got a bit of catching up to do. This is what someone brought me to rebuild. Your talking about the Elio, they keep extending the date (still waiting). As far as "look what I got" did you mean my website? I may have participated in other illustrated threads, but this is a first for me. Nice to see you Larrball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John

check at the ignition switch, when the key is off the black/white wire should be grounded from the green wire via the switch. Then check at the cdi connector for ground at the black/white wire. If it gets lost some where add an extra wire in its place.

In testing CDI's for resale, I have come across a fews that will not shut off the engine.
