That was easy! Can't wait to see more. Added a picture of my scoot too, pre-crash...

Hey Joao, welcome. I was up at S Lake Tahoe today working on a rental property. B-eautiful weather out that way lately. I really wanted to have my scoot with me. Next time it comes along for the ride.

Bandito2, all I remember was the stout hit from behind and then me rolling and rolling and rolling like I was on a rinse cycle. I thought I was finished rolling, but nope - one more roll. I went forward - you went backward. Not sure if there is a better option there...
All I know is it's the last time I want to do that. I'm going to mount the trunk and light that puppy up like a christmas tree now. But you're right - you just can't eliminate all the risk of an intentional or unattentive driver. But I'll sure try....

I'm sure they can be had easily. The trick will be making sure cables can reach any potential extra length. My wrists would sure enjoy the angle better.

Some advice. Become hypervigilant. Winner. I'm always anticipating what the cars all around me might try. I turn it into a game to keep me fresh. Yeah Kat, people don't turn their heads and look. Big stuff evades their attention.

I think you're wise to be patient. Too long or too short can put everything in the wrong place and potentially cause damage. Or just feel and look weird.
Our dealer folk will pipe in soon and give some guidance. The specific make/model will be very useful.

I hear ya. I'm going to replace my helmet with a dayglo variety. Maybe sew a brilliant safety orange vest to my riding jacket. Anything to add more visual stimulation for weary or inattentive drivers. That, and try some different positioning when I'm in precarious circumstances at a red light.

Cool. Just got the word from the adjuster/inspector that they have arranged with the repair shop to get the scoot repaired with replacement parts and paint work where needed. Instead of totaling it.

My scoot is at a local scooter shop being evaluated for insurance repairs. The insurance inspector is going by to validate the repairs listed in the estimate. If the amount goes beyond a certain value, it will be totalled. If it stays under, I may be able to get it back and be up and running again.
I've got mixed feelings on what I want. On the one hand, I was just getting started getting the scooter sorted out and tuned. On the other hand, if it's been in an accident, there is the possibility it may never run/ride as smoothly again without significant repairs that may not be apparent right now.
we wait.....

Hi Roy,
No idea man. Probably few other people know either, which is why they've viewed but not replied.
Just some constructive feedback: your post is a bit visually choppy to follow. I took a quick glance first time to see if I could help and gave up. A picture would be super helpful too, especially if it's non-standard.
Hang tight, someone will come through. Some resourceful folks on this board. But do try to post a pic.

Nice post. I grew up in Houston and spent a fair amount of time down by the ocean shorefishing. I miss it sometimes (except in August).

That passenger footpeg mount shows promise. Maybe find something else closer to the back for additional support. It may be long and unsightly, but there are options if you are creative. You'll need to fashion a bracket out of some 1 inch wide bar. Forget about repairing that broken part reliably.

If you have a Yahoo email account, you probably also have a flickr account attached to it. You can post there.
Or PM me and send it to me via email. I'll post it somewhere for you. Just don't make it too big.

Scoots, take a couple of pics. It will help. A video clip even better.
