Loaded up the scoots in the pickup and drove to Galveston island. Unfortunately, Jamaica Beach, like all the other beaches was covered with seaweed from the Sargasso Sea. -We spent a little time on the beach and then unloaded the scooters for a ride. Two cruise ships were moored in the port of Galveston. I got a pic of a Royal Carribean Ship. The new ship Carnival Magic was also in port. We took the bridge over to Pelican Island. My wife saw a huge red snake by the road but unfortunately didn't get a pic. We stopped in front of Seawolf park for a view of the USS Stewart. After a Cajun lunch at Leo's, were went back to the mainland and, unfortunately, back to reality. Seaweed on Jamaica Beach from the Sargasso Sea The USS Stewart A Royal Carribean Cruise ship

Nice post. I grew up in Houston and spent a fair amount of time down by the ocean shorefishing. I miss it sometimes (except in August).

dev150cc - The Houston heat is one reason the wife and I got small scooters. When it's time to return to the mainland, we load them into my pickup and enjoy some air conditioning during the ride home. San Jose sounds like an ideal place to ride a scooter with that bay area weather.
