I think you're wise to be patient. Too long or too short can put everything in the wrong place and potentially cause damage. Or just feel and look weird.
Our dealer folk will pipe in soon and give some guidance. The specific make/model will be very useful.

With shocks, the bolt size is the main concern. So long as you can make that work, 1-2mm in height difference is not going to matter. There are actually special mounting brackets sold to lower the rear end by altering the shock mount. You have at least an inch to play with on the rear shocks.

I replaced the shocks on my Magna with some shadow shocks. Only thing I had to do was use a different bushing size, which came with the new progressive shocks Shouldn't be a problem using 2 new shocks with such a small diff length

Replaced mine last yr with 1 inch shorter , no probs
