My city has just under 100K population and is a nice size for scooter riding. The climate is great mostly year round with the exception of the summer hot and rainy (humid). Traffic is mostly light except for the evening rush hour but there are always alternate routes for a scooter. Many lakes provide nice scenery and destinations for short cruises.

Go to the junkyard and get a couple horns from a big American sedan...

My Auto Moto 150 sounds a lot like the Gyro. Cab tilts and drives like a conventional scooter while the 2 rear wheels and engine sub frame give nice stability and 2 wheel drive.

Manhole covers that are set a couple inches below the road surface, speed humps in parking lots, unpainted median divider curbs, drain grates and even lawn cleanup debris that blows into the street are my biggest obstacles here in Florida.
I don't ride the scooter very much after dark but any additional lighting that makes it easier to see or be seen is a plus in my book!

I live in Phoenix, so earlier this morning I took my scoot out on about a 20 mile round trip to run errands. It was 42 degrees, so it was pretty cold. I have a heavy leather jacket and a full face shield helmet, but my gloves just cover my hands and part of my fingers. My fingers got so cold that I could barely hold the throttle after a few miles. Tomorrow I'm heading to the store to get some full size gloves. LOL These are nice... www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-49-17-0142-Weather-Gloves-Large/dp/B000RWF0O2

This could be a promising alternative... www.drone-mods.com/Drone-Mods-UAV-Locator-DM005.htmSmall and lightweight, it uses all networks available, not just a single carrier/provider to locate the unit. Subscription is a tad over five bucks a month, or 16.5 cents per day. Now if it could be hard wired to the scooter's electrical system to maintain a charge beyond the battery's 12 day life...

I wonder if moped owners get ribbed by scooter folks...
