Duct Tape & WD-40: If it moves and shouldn’t, use Duct Tape, if it doesn’t move and should, use WD-40.

The longer the wheelbase (distance from center of front wheel to center of rear wheel) the smoother the ride. Taller sidewall on the tires, also means smoother ride.

Installed Digital HUD app on my phone. Now I dont have to try to read the tiny speedometer numbers anymore. BTW this pic is from Google images. i did not take a photo at 54 mph!

Installed the replacement carb and intake. Now all the rubber parts including tires are new and crack free! Just passed the 500 mi mark, time for an oil change and valve adjustment next.

My trike is great fun for cruising around town, but it is simply too big and awkward to take places like the beach. I have been investigating mopeds and ultra small scooters I could mount to a bike rack on the back of my car for weekend excursions.

Well, with only 50 miles in 5 years, I think dry rot was more the cause than bad fuel. I just changed 3 tyres with only 300 miles on them because of scary looking sidewall cracks.

Just ordered a new carb & intake to solve vacuum troubles. Amazing what goes bad just sitting for 5 years...

I've never oiled the stock air filter. EDIT: That's new to me. I know some performance free-flow filters get oiled, but honestly have never oiled the stock one. Look for some K&N (or other good brand) filter oil at almost every auto parts store. Usually in aerosol can. Read directions and mist lightly, but do not soak your filter. That should trap way more dirt than before.

Finally adjusted the valve (singular) today. The exhaust valve was a bit tight. The intake was surprisingly set close to .004 or so so I just left it as is. Cleaned the carb thoroughly which had some dirt around the intake area and underneath the diaphragm. Plus the outside needed it, too. When I saw dirt inside the airbox tube that threw up a red flag. Not sure what the deal is but my stock foam air filter is only about a 1/4 inch thick. Not sure what is up with that, but whatever. The scoot is running a bit better after the valve job and a clean carb, so I'm happy. Is the foam element oiled? If not, it won't trap much dirt.

What? No kick in the fender with a steel-toed boot?
