I saw this posted over at ScooterDoc, had to share it with you guys, I love it! A trike with an RV for one person built on it! Motoblog : Bufalino Piaggio Ape 50Personally I would use a 250cc, can't imagine taking a 50cc RV on even back highways, but I love this no matter what!

I want to know why the one person needed to number the drawers. "Hm, where's I put my toothbrush and stuff? Oh, yeah, drawer 4." ??
>'Kat, wondering if the nickname version would be a Piggy-ape

It looks like a fun idea, but I think it could be implemented a bit better by making it use some sort of pop-up sleeping area. As it appears here, it looks like it has too much of a height profile that would make it susceptible to broadside wind. And definitely a bigger engine than 50cc would be in order. Certainly 200cc or more would be more practical & safer.
And while we're kind of on the subject of enclosed 3 wheeled scoots, does anybody know anything about the Honda Gyro or any clones of it? Mostly, do you know if it had any unpleasant peculiarities because of its arrangement? I'm pretty sure it was just a 50cc, but I wonder if a bigger scooter version of that would ever be a good idea. I know there is/was a much larger trike motorcycle vehicle where the front wheel & rider-tandem seat compartment pivoted while the 2 drive wheels & engine at the rear stayed even with the road a la Gyro. It was called the Carver. Man, but wouldn't a 582 cc Honda Silverwing FSC600 sized Gyro type scoot be the baddest, coolest thing to cruise the roads?
I'd be interested to see the pivoting mechanism to see how it could possibly be scaled up to Silverwing size. If I were to ever try doing a 3 wheeled conversion of a scooter, this would be a more interesting way to go about it than a conventional trike (wheels 1F&2R) or a tadpole/reverse trike (wheels 2F&1R) or a complicated tilting 3 wheeler like the Piaggio MP3. (wheels 2F&1R)
I think I'm going to research this idea.

My Auto Moto 150 sounds a lot like the Gyro. Cab tilts and drives like a conventional scooter while the 2 rear wheels and engine sub frame give nice stability and 2 wheel drive.

BTW: Is it only me or does that camper look CGI and not yet real? Now rocky, whatever would give you that idea? It couldn't possibly be... ...oh, I dunno...THE MISSING SIDES, now could it? >'Kat

That Bufalino Piaggio may be the perfect "dog house", for the next time the wife kicks you out.

The first and the last ones of those I last posted look more interesting with the final one more viable. You have to have great lungs and legs to deal with the first one.

Non-running engine (if there is even one in there), cut-away sides and a dummy model lying on the bed. (I can tell...... he's not snoring .....) Plus running along the floor board beneath the dummy camper's legs, it looks like just bare wood..... It's a model for display. Tires look partially flat & dry rot too. One thing I find a bit ridiculous is the fuel fill pipe sticking up. they could have just left that out. BTW, I really think that trailer pulled by the bicycles is quite ingenious with the way the back half folds forward for transport. Absolutely Brilliant!!! Even scaled up a little bit, I think I could pull something like that with my Reflex.... and certainly could with my Silverwing scooter.

I think it is for real, but is just a display model... Translated from the Italian: "And 'possible to realize a camper on the basis of treruote Piaggio Ape 50? It would seem so! And the answer is called Bufalino, mini camper made by German designer Cornelius Comanns that revolutionized the Ape 50 both inside and out. Indeed, Comanns gave the vehicle a style even more sympathetic, while the interior has been designed to meet the needs and requirements of a single person. The Bufalino is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, a bed, two chairs, wash basin and computer station. The concept of the Bufalino retraces the same Ark Mascotte, mini camper born in the early 80s on the basis of the truck Fiat 900. However, both are united by the same defect, the absence of the bathroom ..." Note: "possible to realize" and "concept of the Bufalino" -- it is pictures of what COULD be made.

Well, I meant "real" as in not simply a CGI as was suggested as a possibility in a earlier post. The display model exists physically though I agree It may only be a concept piece rather than any kind of representation of what may have already been made in production. Anyway, the research I've been doing led me to a minivan sort of 3 wheeler called the Wildfire WF650-C. Apparently there is/was a flatbed pick up truck version as well Called the WF650-T. I presume the "C" was for car and the "T" for truck. 2006 to 2008 was when they made and imported these as far as I could find. Then there was an 800cc version that was imported. In 2012 there was a recall done on them for not being DOT compliant. They couldn't stop within the specified limits from 30 mph, only 1 brake fluid reservoir instead of 2; 1 for each brake system F&R as required. They failed to meet the recall requirements and so a bunch of inventory was forfeited. (confiscated) That effectively closed the company's US operations. I think there were other problems with the Snyder Computer Systems, Inc., d/b/a Wildfire Motors with other equipment they sold (generators etc.) that were not EPA compliant as well. Too bad really because they would have made a nice basis for a micro motorhome/camper. They were not exactly fast either with a cruise of 45 & 65 mph top speed. And they were prone to tip over when cornering too fast. Not unlike the old Robin Reliant 3 wheeler from the UK. Gonna do more digging on this subject..... having fun.

I work in Bentley Micro Station and that level of realism is what we expect in a computer generated mockup. To me due to my CAD experience as a software developer has a generated look to it and does not appear physical.

I just checked out the whole set of pics again. I agree with rocky that all the interior shots are obviously computer-generated. But the exterior shots look real--there's just too much reflection and shadows that aren't "dropped in", unless someone spent way too much time making it look real.
And my question now is, Drawer 7--why would someone put "kitchen stuff, GAS, food" in the same drawer? Who stores gas with food? HUH?!?!?!!!!
Also, where's the 'fridge? And do I want to know what the bucket is for...?

Rocky - I am a MicroStation user. You can't get DOT jobs in most states without MicroStation. It's much easier to use now since it accepts AutoCAD key-ins.
