I'm so jealous of you guys & gals in the warmer climates,I'm sitting in my living room in the middle of April looking out the window in Wisconsin at 30 degree temps and snow, and to really throw salt in the wound its my only day off work, all you people down south take a ride for me!

I bought that same one with 14g rollers for my 150,it's awesome,my take off is a lot better and my top end rpm is lower as well,a bought a gates power link belt at the same time and both vastly improved the smoothness of the cvt! Correction sorry I just looked at the first pic, mine is a Koso branded variatior

I used engine paint from the parts store, the color is aluminum, put on three coats then waited 20 mins and popped it in the oven @ 200 degrees for an hour, when I pulled it out the finish was rock hard,I can't remember the brand,I got it from oreillies auto parts for like 7 bucks a can.

I thought about that but wouldn't it do it all winter,I rode most of the cold season? It just started,I did a little more research maybe the auto choke, like its opening but just not long enough duration, can that happen or is it either working or not?

The past week my scooter won't stay running in the cold when I first start it in the cold, here it's in the thirties,it will start just fine and idle around 1500 rpm for about 30 secs then drop really low and die,the only way I can keep it running is hold the throttle at 1500-1700 for about two minutes then it will stay running on its own fine.what gives? 150cc 1000 miles so far

I have been experimenting with different weights and such in my variator and am very thrifty (I have for kids to feed) so rather then buying a $50 electric impact I went to harbor freight,I have one by my house, and bought a pack of two strap wrenches used for pipes and plumbing stuff for $4.99 for the set of two, works like a charm to hold the fan to break the nut free, extra cash for more mods!

I purchased my peace sports 150cc from r3 Powersports in Mosinee wi,first off the owner let me put the scooter on layaway with nothing down, and today I wanted to install my performance variator but don't have the money for an impact gun so the owner let me use his tools in his service bay to install it.on top of all that he is an awesome person to deal with and very knowledgable in what he sells.

Awesome!!! I finally got my variator installed, and what a difference for $40 the pick up is night and day,the main thing is before I was 55-57@7300 now I'm at the same top end but only about 6500 which has got to be better for the motor.i think I might drop in some 12g weights and get I little more top end,I was also very impressed with the dealer I asked him how much to put it in as I don't have an impact gun or a lot of cash, the owner was so cool he let me pull the bike in and use his tools and service bay,his machanic was even standing there showning me how to install it,now that is going out or your way to help someone! It's called r3 Powersports outside of Wausau wi.i also ordered a new gates belt on eBay which has not arrived yet, trying to get ready for summer!

From what I can gather if the weights are heavier it will take longer to spool up all the way,it will stay in low "gear" longer? I would like that so long as my top end was not effected,I don't have a lot of hilly terrain on the routs I travel.and I also gather if they are too heavy it might not get all the way up there in rpm's,correct?

I took off my cvt cover with intentions of painting it,while in there I saw the belt was in poor shape, kinda weird for 900 miles but anyway I ordered a powerlink belt and a Koso performance variator that comes with 14g rollers.i noticed on my stock variator that the belt is not going all the way to the top.prob about a quarter inch short, should I use my stock rollers I have no clue what weight they are, what will 14 grams do for me,is that a good place to start? I don't wanna hurt my top end, today with the wind at my tail I hit 59 @ 7450 rpm, on a flat hwy.what will a performance variator do anyway? Peace Powersports 150cc Attachments:

Yeah that's about normal for china scoots mine is off sometimes by 5 and as much as 10 mph,I don't think they can be calibrated, and yes when I took my wheel off once mine came apart just like that,I just use my iPhone with a GPS speed app, that's allot more accurate.
