Either I'm doing something wrong or they have nothing.

Thank the Fates for a good return policy...the XXL helmet arrived yesterday, & fits perfectly. (And for the record, anyone calling me "Fathead" will get a kick in the rear!) ;D

The yellow one indeed. However, in a sandy/desert area, it might actually be less visible. Depends on the shade...offhand, my Q-Link is bright, school-bus yellow! It's not quite hi-vis, but close.

I don't bother to wave to the pretentious "weekend warriors" here in Cary on motorcycles (as they'll never acknowledge a scooter) but occasionally, especially around downtown or NCSU campus, a sport bike rider will throw me some love. Aside from VW Beetle owners, where do you ever find that kind of respect and affection for complete strangers on the road? Not sure what exactly you're trying to get at, but I don't think being a rider necessarily defines you as a person. At the same time, there are people who love and embrace it as part (or all!!!) of their life and others who kinda "just do it"... you know? You see it with Jeeps, Airstreams, and Studebakers.

FYI: the KBC helmets run small. I ordered an XL (my usual size) and can't even get it on my head!

Which ones?
Have you looked to see if the number is stamped on the old bulb?

They will only have to pay local tax guys. Not local to the buyer local to the seller. That's a whopping total of 1 rate to track. No, I do not think that is the case. If it IS, look for a mass exodus to no-sales-tax states! (Offhand: Oregon, New Hampshire, Delaware.)

That's the intention. Wal-Mart and Amazon LOVE this idea: they can afford it. They have full-time IT and accounting staff who can handle it. A small business owner doesn't...it can and will put some of them (maybe including Mainely Scooters) out of business!

You are mot thinking this through: there are more than NINE THOUSAND different sales tax juristictions in the country. There is, as yet, no software capable of dealing with it. This should be called the "Amazon-Walmart Protection Act", because that is precisely what it is!

Why Chinese? Because my bank balance said "NO" to a Silverwing or a Burgman!

Something to consider... Take a look at your cell phone... If you have a high end andriod or an Iphone, chances are they were built in China... If you have a cell phone (like mine) chances are it too was made in China. You can get high quality goods or dollar store quality goods out of China. It is more about the spec a particular item was made to and the quality control used to evaliate the final product. My LG Optimus smartphone was made in Korea.

Tip from the dude teaching my MC safety course: if at a sensor light, try shutting down the engine, then restarting. The starter's strong electromagnetic field will usually trip the sensor. (My uncle confirmed that is DOES work.) If your scoot is kick-start only...yep, yer bleeeeped.

They were high-tops...no lower than my boots and fastened with Velcro straps. They were designed for motorcyclists.

I will not wear anything but my work boots (multi-layered leather with safety toe) to ride!
One guy in my cycle safety class had Kevlar-lined safety SNEAKERS, which I thought were kind of cool.
