That is definitely one good looking build. If it rides as good as it looks, you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face!

Low rpm low pressure no fuel flow thru petcock. Get her started, rpms increase which increases vacuum, opening the failing petcock more.
A properly functioning petcock will allow fuel to flow at low rpm low pressure.

Bent valves almost always occur when the valve spring keys come out, allowing the valve to drop. Had that happen to me once, but I was lucky enough to only have to replace the head.

If when this happens it takes a long time to start, I would suspect the fuel filter or petcock. When it dies like this, try opening the carb bowl drain, if fuel pours out, it's probably not a fuel starvation issue.

They don't have a glamorous showroom, and yes they do spam craigslist, but they have treated my family right on four scooter purchases over two years. They also gave you a good recommendation in scrappy's. I'll take a grungy good deal over a glossy showroom anyday!

If you're replacing it, cut the old one apart with a dremel or hacksaw, temp link them together, pull through, unlink from old, link new, done.
Contact the seller(s) of the new chain to be sure it has a master link. Also, the 1p57qmj has a longer chain, be sure you get the right length.

The heads are different between 157 qmj 150cc to a 1p57qmj 150cc. The cam seats have a different heights. Also the 4 valve heads require cam chain be replaces which means splitting the case. You don't have to split the case to swap chains. Just link them together, mark the link, then pull through.

While chains are only to slow down the stealing go on e bay and get a alarm at least while someone is trying to get chain off the alarm will be attraction with all the noise it will be making. While nothing is sure proof it may help just one more link in security. Nope! He had a loud alarm that came stock on that scooter, didn't stop these thieves!

Bought another scooter from A2Z Motorsports / Scooternation.com today. Once again I got it for less than list price, $200 less! Watched them uncrate and assemble it as we chatted with their mechanics, then followed my nephew home on my scooter as he took his longest ride yet (the shop is across town). A motorcycle cop pulled up beside us at a stop light, and gave us a friendly nod before pulling away, good ride home. These Icebear scooters are made well, and the burgundy color he choose is very nice (the flash messes with the color in pics below, it is a nice medium dark burgundy). Once it hits mileage for the first oil change, we'll throw a 72cc BBK on it so he has better takeoff and hill climbing.

So, my nephew learned an expensive lesson this past Monday. He thought it was good enough to park his scooter at school next to an administrator's car under a couple of cameras without a lock. Turns out he was wrong, and his scooter got stolen. So today, I took him to my local dealer, and bought him a new Icebear PMZ50-4J. He's going to have to make payments to me for the next year to pay it off with his part time job as a karate instructor, good lessons that hopefully he will take to heart: lock your scooter and make your payments on time! We got a good deal, $700 + $200 for the BBK+installation and service plan. He went with the burgundy color, which I think looks very nice. Here's a few pics: Unboxing and assembly Front and side views:
