Hi Maxwells,
Welcome to the forum. I too have the TBX260. It's a 2012 EFI. I'm always interested in getting guidance from other owners.

Well, I got my new regulator and all seems good so far. It was too late and dark last night when we got it installed to do anymore testing. But as soon as I started up the scoot my lights worked and were brighter than ever and no longer flickered. There was no dimming of lights when I squeezed the brake handle which was the sure test for me. Before they would go so dim, you would not even know they were on before the new regulator. I will pick up a new multimeter tonight for the final test. But I think it's safe to say oregonmotorcycleparts.com saved the riding season for me.

Welcome to the forum Sunny. I love your scooter. I looked for yellow when I bought my TBX260 but it didn't come in yellow so I got white. I feel your pain about the MSF class. I had to take the riding portion a second time. My first day, the bike went out of control but luckily I was able to stop and not crash. The teacher was very intimidating and made me uncomfortable as a new rider. I was afraid to shift out of first gear and they kept telling me I was going too slow. I took the class a second time and the teachers in that course were wonderful. I had sooo much fun, that by the second class they told me that I was going too fast. What a difference a teacher makes. They even gave me some tips to get through that crazy double U-turn part of the test. I knew all along, I wanted to ride a scooter and everyone in the class laughed whenever I would mention it, but I wanted my motorcycle license to be able to move up if I so desired. Not sure if you need a license in Michigan for a scooter, but in PA you need at least a scooter license if it over 50cc. So stay encouraged and happy riding....

I received a referral to oregonmotorcycleparts.com from members of another forum. So I've contacted Oregon motorcycle parts and received a reply from Tony. I sent him pics of my current regulator. He is experienced with that model and thinks that he may be able to help me out. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for all of your input. On the BMS site the pic shows the one that I need, but when I called BMS to order it, we discovered that they have the wrong pic for the one that they have in stock. If you look at the description on their page, it indicates that it is indeed a 5 wire and the one that I need is a 6 wire. My last resort was to contact Xingyue in China directly...LOL I contacted them before and they got back to me, so I'll keep you posted. If not, I may be contacting you tvnacman, because I refuse to be down all summer !
Thanks again...

Thanks, but that is the 5 wire. I called them for the 6 wire and that's when they told me it was back ordered.

Hi all,
I'm in desperate need of a voltage regulator for my 2012 efi tbx 260. 3 plugs with 6 wires. Bms is back ordered 3-4 weeks and i can't find it anywhere. Took it on vacation and now can't ride. I found a place that works on them but we can't get the part. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would pay to have it fedexed if i can find it.
Thanks...

Thanks for the info. I love the scoot and I get so many compliments. But it is my first one, so I really don't have much to compare it to. So far, I've think the fastest I've tried it was at about 75-80 mph (chinese odometer) and have no problems keeping up with traffic. I haven't seen many reviews on the scoot even now. Hopefully that means owners are not having a lot of problems with it. So I took a chance and have not regretted it. I've only had to replace the battery with a lithium one and now the rim. I went out to start it the other day and after sitting in the garage all winter, it started right up on the first crank. So I think, I've been pretty lucky.

Hi All,
I need to get a new rim for my 2012 BMS TBX 260. Rim info: MT3.50 DOT I found it on a few sites and was wondering if anyone had a preference on vendors. Can anyone share their experience and help me get back on the road? I'm looking for:
Price Shipping Speed Return Policy, etc.
Thanks,
Pam

When I was younger a brother of one of my friends took me for the scariest ride ever on the back of his motorcycle. After that, I thought I would never want to ride again. Then as I got older, I got bitten by the bug after I rode with one of my friends on the back of a Harley. What a truly different experience. The opportunity to be uncaged and free without terror was wonderful. I noticed things around me that I had never noticed when I traveled down those same roads in a car. With some many friends that ride, I decided to step outside of my box and take the MSF course. It took two tries at the driving test, since I didn’t know anything about shifting on a MC or car. But after I passed the test, I bought my first scooter (TBX 260) and never looked back. It’s still new to me as it has only been 2 years and a little over 2,000 miles, but I have loved every minute of it. I still get a kick out of the expressions on people’s faces when they find out this computer geek is also a Scooter Diva !! I also loooove getting 80 mpg during the summer months.

Deal with an ins agent rather than online forms. I called the agent before I bought the BMS TBX-260. That model was not listed on the insurance sites, but when I spoke to the Geico agent, I sent him the link to the bike, he did the research. It turned out to be a Zhejiang Xingyue 260. This was verified when I received the MCO. I called him when i bought the bike and got full coverage. Many companies just throw their names on the bike, but the first few digits of the serial number will give you the actual manufacturer. Also on the FMVSS plate, it should list the actual manufacturer.
Good Luck

Congrats on the new purchase. Crystal Trucking delivered my tbx 260 for Bobcat Motorsports. They gave me a timeframe of 9-3 and I was the 3:00 delivery. Lol I'm so happy that chose to buy from Bobcat's Motorsports. At first, I was a little hesitant about purchasing from an online dealer, but the transaction went exactly as outlined on their website. The scooter arrived in excellent condition on the date promised. The paperwork arrived shortly after. I got that a week later just request it immediately after the bike is delivered. Thanks to Bobcats knowing that my state required it to be notarized, I was spared a lot of grief when I went to register it. The auto tag center commented on how well the paperwork was completed. The PDI was fast and easy. (We checked out a few PDI videos before it arrived so that we would know what to expect.) I would suggest that you get someone to help you get it off of the truck. Even though I asked for liftgate service, there was only one guy in the truck and he can't do it by himself. One of my friends who is also a truck driver was here to help and he had to tell the guy what to do to get it on the dolly to unload it... And they don't use the motorized dolly, so pray for a sunny day, because he leaves it at the curb not even in your driveway.
Have your cell camera ready to take pictures of the box and bike after you remove the carton. You will need that if there are any damages that you need to report. Luckily everything was perfect when we opened it.
You will need tools to unbolt the scooter from the frame. So you will need some pliers, 10, 12, 14 mm wrenches, regular size Phillips and flat head screwdriver. Enjoy!!!
