I love my SL26 pirelli tires. Compared to the stock chinese ones, well there is no comparison, the pirellis are in a league of their own compared to that stock chinese junk haha. Never used a Kenda before, so I can't help you with a comparison...

A heavier "torque" spring should give you the torque you need to tackle those hills. Something like 1.5k. Dr. Pulley slider weights should give you higher top end, but too heavy of weights and you'll lose some speed. You're pretty right on what you've explained and it sounds like you know how to hit that power band. I suggest getting a variator weight tuning kit if you really want to play with weight combinations. Your valves can be set to .003 intake, .004 exhaust. Good luck getting answers to your other questions!

[replyingto=arielb1]arielb1[/replyingto]Sorry, I was trying to ask you. The gas tank needs the vent for pressurization or something and gasoline can evaporate quite quick. It's not as noticable on cars because of their multi-gallon tanks, but on a scooter when a fraction of a gallon dissipates into the air your gasoline meter is going to notice it. Cars mostly have evaporation problems when they're below half a tank of gas. wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_a_car_use_more_gas_when_the_tank_is_below_half_full

Evaporation? You know that there is usually a vent on the gas tank, right?

Got that video yet? I've heard before that different grades of gasoline can cause knocking? But I'm not sure. I'm not experienced enough to give you advice on this particular issue, so I'll just bump your thread 'til we find some expert advice.

[replyingto=salracer]sailracer[/replyingto]Well, not quite. I had a sock covering my UNI filter to richen up my fuel but then my UNI fell off so I've been sidelined for a while now. In the mean time I've installed a new jet and have tinkered on the great leap so she should run for optimal performance soon. I may have to get one size down of dr. pulley slider weights, but otherwise the last time I rode it she was pullin' 50mph. Hill climbing isn't so good as I haven't gotten a torque spring yet. I'm barely going 35-40mph up hill. I ordered a torque spring and the one I got is for 150cc scooters. So now I have to order a new one... I've taken the clutch off and apart before though so it should be a piece of cake. Thanks for asking!

Pirelli SL-26 are the ones I use and I'd highly recommend them to anyone. They have great grip and feel like riding on air compared to stock tires.

So, Hank recommended I tap out my drain bolt hole, Alleyoop recommended I get the permacoil M8 1.25 kit to do so. I just did the procedure with the permacoil kit and so far my gear oil isn't leaking. Probably would have had to buy a new engine, tap out to a larger bolt, or pay a mechanic a $100 to fix it. But I just paid roughly $40 to do it myself. So... Great. Thanks a lot, Alleyoop. The procedure went as follows... I drained my gear oil, the threads were so bad on the bolt hole that I was able to loosen it by hand until it was stuck on a broken thread and I had to pry it out with a screwdriver. Then I tried using my grandfather's 21/64 drill bit to drill out the hole as per direction. Did that for about an hour before realizing I was using a wood drill bit, no big deal I planned on going to ace to get a tap wrench anyway. So I went to ace and got the METAL penetrating 21/64 drill bit and the tap wrench. When I got home it took approximately 3 seconds to drill out the hole with the metal penetrating drill bit. Then it took another few minutes to tap out the hole, then even less time to insert the thread. My kit didn't come with anything to punch the tang, but that was no problem as I had one of my grandpa's punches that did the trick. I then ran some gear oil through it to wash out the metal shavings. Good as new.

"To The Core"
If I could paint how I feel, I'd draw bullseye on your forehead My anger is not misdirected Unless it somehow misses you
Time spent on hate, is time gone to waste, I watch you point and click your life away
So cast the stones that I'll gladly catch And I'll throw them right back, I stand behind the things I say, You type the words you won't say to my face
Time spent on hate, is time gone to waste, I watch you point and click your life away
It seems you've let me go again, Just like the day you let me in, The best of intentions, you were never mine to begin with
So step away from the screen, See a world outside your scene, Maybe then you will know And realize the lack of threat you pose

Now... Is this consistent oil burning? When I FIRST ran my BBK smoke came out of the exhaust and it smelled like burning oil. Well... That's to be expected when you use a quarter of a quarter of a quart of oil lubing up the piston, rings, cylinder walls, etc. After about 10 miles the oil burning and smoke stopped and I haven't seen anything smoke-like come out of my exhaust since.
I could very well be wrong and this is a serious thing to be concerned about. It might be in your best interest to tear it down and try again. Just like CopperDeer says.

[replyingto=mgsiciliano]mgsiciliano[/replyingto]Copper CR7HSA, or Iridium CR7HIX.
A properly gapped CR7HSA should work fine. Iridiums don't need gapping.
