Welcome to the forum! ;D I have no experience with that specific scooter, but I have experience with my own Chinese scooter. And I must admit that I have been stranded multiple times - BUT every single time I've been stranded has been my own dang fault. The reliability and road worthiness of the Chinese scooter is wholly dependent on the mechanical skill of the owner IMHO. When I first got my scooter I had tons of issues and I could barely hit 25mph. Now that I've progressed with my skill with a wrench and gotten more familiar with the mechanics of the scooter I'm hitting speeds just over 50mph and I haven't been stranded since I last charged my battery about two months ago. If you end up with a Chinese scooter just be sure to carry some tools for rudimentary repair when going on long trips.

[replyingto=abscooters]Abscooters[/replyingto]Thanks for the apologies and for applying the forum discount to my account - I was wondering about that...
Even if I have to wait a little while for shipping due to being under-staffed I still really have no choice but to order from you guys for a lot of parts because you're the closest place to my house. The parts are high quality, it just takes a little while for processing for me for some reason. Is it because I use a credit card?
I also confused that order with a different order I placed. You are correct, I ordered the incorrect clutch spring, not brake caliper.

[replyingto=jeepsteve92xj]jeepsteve92xj[/replyingto]@jeepsteve: Very nice, Steve. I should have asked you from the beginning and I could have been riding by now. Instead I went ahead and took a chance on a seller that doesn't offer prompt shipping.

www.ridersneeds.com/These guys... I ordered my Air Filter with high priority shipping with an estimate of 1-3 days to get to my house. I ordered it last Thursday. Now it's Wednesday and the filter is finally scheduled to be delivered. Thursday passed and they didn't ship it. Friday came and they didn't ship it. The weekend came and passed and they didn't ship it. Finally Monday came and they FINALLY shipped it. I paid $16 for the filter, $15 for shipping. In my honest opinion, this place just sucks for not having a prompt shipping service. Worst of all they're located only an hour from my house...

Mine fell off so I use a sharp screw. No loosening problems here.

Congrats on getting your belt on! And happy birthday, Steelace! /) BTW: You will /need/ new jets for a UNI filter. The guys on here can help you with that 'cause I don't have a 150cc so I can't begin to tell you where to start. Taking the carb off the first time is a daunting task, but once you get the hang of it it's really easy. ;D

Keep it up. And keep us updated. Don't forget to lube it up nice and good with the oil you use in your bike. Some people do it dry, but I had success doing mine with a bunch of oil and it helped the piston and rings slide into the cylinder.

[replyingto=steelace]steelace[/replyingto]All you gotta do is remove the variator (or clutch too, I guess, but removing the variator should be way easier)
I can't find any videos about just squeezing the clutch to get the belt in there, but it's simple enough. The clutch will squeeze open and shut and all you have to do is get the belt in there to keep it open so that you have enough length of the belt to get it on the variator shaft.
Good luck!

That's a horrible predicament. D8 At least it shouldn't take too long getting it titled, insured, and registered and ready to ride. The day after I got my scooter I was able to do all these things and within a few hours I had my insurance card, my temporary license plates, my temporary title, etc. It took about two weeks for the permanent stuff to get to me, but I was still able to ride until then. This all depends on getting that paperwork though. In any case... Congratulations on buying a scooter, getting your motorcycle license, and doing research. Hope your scooter gets to you relatively soon!
