# Jetting - #80 Jetting - I did a BBK (60CC) and cant seem to get any throttle power. It will bog around 10 MPH no matter what valve adjustment, airbox, A/F or jetting.... I have the valves adjusted to .003 intake and .005 exhaust Please watch the videos and let me know if there is any hope, or its time to throw this in the dumpster!

You've tried restricting the air box by taping the snorkel holes? Originally I couldn't get full throttle with my 63cc unless two snorkel holes were plugged up... Otherwise I have no idea how to help, sorry

I restriced the air flow completely and poked more and more holes in the tape until it ran the best, but even then it was only 10 mph before choking

Does it have a CV carb(Throttle attached to the side of the right side of the carb)?
Take the top off and check the diaphgram for rips and or tiny holes. How to do that is shine a light on one side and pull the rubber straight and see if you can see light. What a leaking diaphgram will do is it will raise the needle part way but if it is leaking it will not hold and will drop the needle back down and you have the throttle wide open.
The other thing is to try a 75 or 72 main jet, It is getting to much fuel.
Did you adjust the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE on the carb to get the HIGHEST IDLE on the CENTER STAND? Alleyoop

I actually already adjusted the screw on the carb to get the best idle....
The carb is 100% new, so I doubt that the diaphragm is bad... but it is worth checking.
The carb came with a 78 main jet installed, so I asummed that a 78 was designed for the 50cc engine...
If you think its could be the issue, can try smaller main jets and see if that helps
tomorrow I will try a 75, and 70 ( dont have a 72)

no luck with anything... Diaphragm was brand new looking and fit normally... I set the valves to .004 and .005... then tried main jets 70,75,78,80,and .....nothing THEN I set the valves to .003 and .004 and tried main jets 70,75,78,80,and .....squat Then I set the valves to .025 and .003 ....and that sounded like I SAWED OFF the muffler .... so I gave up and set the valves back to .004 All I can think is that the exhaust is not big enough... or the timing is somehow wrong... Im setting the cam to the right position ( big hole forward) and the fan is set to "T" I am completely out of ideas so I have listed her on CL... I have put about 45 hrs into it , and im into it total $450 I think its time to take the first 500 that walks through the door..... I would love to have the secret 60...but at this point Im out of ideas

What do you mean big hole forward? The big hole should be on top with the 2 small holes as close to aligning to the head, while aligning the T mark. Perhaps take a picture and share.
Then make sure the valves are correct.
Do you have good spark? Did you change the fuel filter? If so, is it facing the correct direction? Did the scooter run well before the bbk?

Right... the Biggest hole on the Cam is facing the front of the scooter... and the two small holes are lined up with the case...
Spark is good and fuel filter is brand new, and facing the right direction...
Scooter was shredded when i bought it... I replaced the crank, jug, piston, valve head, rocker arms, carb, fuel petcock, filter, and fan shroud..

Did you also replace the rubber? The fuel and vacuum lines? Did you check for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner?
Does it bog when revving it up on its stand or just when you are on it?
Did you drain and replace the gas with good premium fuel? Can you see the fuel flowing through the filter?
Did you check the spark plug how it reads?
Make sure all electrical connections are good, especially to the coil.
Trying to think what else it could be. What is weird is I don't hear a bog, a vraap, or back fire. So, it sounds like a restriction, like your electrical is shutting down or restricting spark. Can you get a vid of the phone closer to the exhaust and engine when you rev it on its stand?

Ill get that video tomorrow... all the rubber seems to be good.. there is good vacuum and fuel flow... Ive always used gas.. would the scoot idle well if there was a coil problem? The lights work well, but the horn was weak when I ran with out a battery. Maybe it is a coil problem?

[replyingto=mgsiciliano]mgsiciliano[/replyingto]Copper CR7HSA, or Iridium CR7HIX.
A properly gapped CR7HSA should work fine. Iridiums don't need gapping.

Side note... the chain tensioner couldnt have anything to do with this right? I dont think so, but when I reinstalled it, it seemed sticky ( wouldn't move up and down well) Just trying to rack my brain for ANYTHING that could have been reinstalled wrong, or that I missed...
