[replyingto=masters34]masters34[/replyingto].003 intake, .004 exhaust.
Cleaning the carb is always a good idea. Unless you really have faith in those so-called miracle products. Seafoam is good for keeping your stuff clean, but nothing beats soaking the jets in some carb cleaner.

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]I've been looking around for a 150 replacement, but I can't find one any anywhere Sorry, looks like you may have to buy the whole variator from somewhere just to replace that. Zombie is selling a variator or trading it for some 4g sliders, you may want to see if he'll send you the blades.

[replyingto=tvnacman]tvnacman[/replyingto]I recommend tvnacman's site, it's worth the extra money for a quality pre-tested part.

[replyingto=chewydbb904]chewydbb904[/replyingto]apply for lost title, get a surety bond? When I couldn't get the title for my zook that's what the DMV told me to do whether or not the thing was titled to begin with.

[replyingto=hank]hank[/replyingto]I've been looking at those dr. pulley variators for a long time now and I deeply want to get one, but the price is a little steep at $100. I might save up for one in the future, but right now that's over a third of my budget. I'm certainly afraid of getting a used dr. pulley variator, so new is my only option.
I'm hoping the Koso variator is a bit better than my stock variator, though I know it can't compare to the quality of Dr. Pulley. Especially if my sliders are any indication of their quality. I couldn't believe how spot on the weights were!
Thanks for the suggestion, Hank! It was actually in my plans to get a dr. pulley variator some day, for now my $22 koso should hold me over until that day though.
I'll go with the option of better gears. By the way, Kaymo, the engine is a AF05E. Isn't that the Honda Aero?

Funny that we here on the forum start talking about scooter dealing, and then the lady sends me another email telling me that she is getting a small business license in order to start dealing scooters. She wants me to take the train to where she lives, just an hour away, in order to do maintenance on the scooters she plans to sell.
The first scooter she wants me to work on is a honda spree. xD

[replyingto=kingkaymo]kingkaymo[/replyingto]On the engine, by the CVT it says "AF05E-8501580" On the bottom by the vin# it says "HO N DA GA (in japanese) A-AF26", so it looks like yes it is the same engine as another honda . Is that the spree, or aero?

[replyingto=lykos23]lykos23[/replyingto]I made my first scrappydogscooters order. I skipped the mirrors, and the intake manifold. Made my first ebay order in a long time; a koso variator. I found some "cool", or "gaudy" looking mirrors on amazon and at other places I think I'll go with those. The intake manifold is cheaper elsewhere due to shipping. Now I just need a torque spring and some new gears and I should be able to hit 50

I haven't heard of jetting that way. When I was "jetting" my honda zook the only option I had was to try different thicknesses of pseudo filter material. A rag with a hole in it was perfect. My old air filter material was even better. I did this by covering the carb with my fingers until I got full range of throttle with good response and then tried to match the restriction with a "filter" of sorts. Lately my bike has been giving me trouble because there is a crack on the air filter hose thing and it's held together with tape right now. I also finally figured out it's the wrong size filter, I got 42mm when I needed to get 38mm I can't even begin to rejet 'til I get my filter situation sorted out. What does your plug look like now?

Seems totally worth it, imho. If anything is wrong with it the forum will be here for you to diagnose and fix all your problems. Just make sure to the a PDI and you're set Edit: When I got my scooter, off of craigslist, it was very hard to start, and it would barely go 25mph. After a valve adjustment and some other upgrades I'm doing 45 on flats now. Don't be scared if it won't start on the first try; it takes work getting it to that point.
