Woohoo! I just sold my first scooter! My foldable DiBlasi is no longer part of my collection~! Happy day! And it's my mom's birthday so now I can afford a good present for her! ;D I owe it all to you guys and my uncle Scott for all the information about fixing scooters. Couldn't have done it without you all!

The lady I sold it to was a cycle buff, she loves motorcycles and scooters of all shapes and sizes. I showed the lady my Honda Zook and you should've seen the look on her face after I told her it was from 1990 and I started it with one kick. ;D She rode the DiBlasi down the road and back and it was so fun she bought it on the spot. Then I told her about all the stuff I've done to my scooter, ending the list with my recent big bore kit and revving my engine a bit. After that she insisted that I become a scooter mechanic and said that because of my knack for scooters I should open up shop and go scootering around upgrading people's scooters. She went on for 15 minutes about this plan she insisted on. She then pulled a big container full of change from the car and said "Here, I like you, take this to menards or something and buy a sign and put it in your yard" it was her daughter's change, and I insisted she take the money back, but she refused to take it back and told me to buy a sign. I spend only six months on this forum and now this is the reaction I get from people...

Are you going to go into buying and selling scooters?

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]That certainly sounds like a cool hobby. If only I had a truck or something to carry them in. That has been the deciding factor in whether or not I get another scooter on more than one occasion. There are tons of listings on craigslist this season and I'd love to get another scooter to tinker on and then resell it, but alas I have no other vehicle with which to transport any scooters.
Maybe one day...

Yeah its feasible . I did a few flips on cars...
True, you probably would need a trailer and truck huh. D8

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]I definitely need some feasable way to transport the scooter. Unless I find someone on craigslist willing to deliver, and then someone to sell to that is willing to pick up, I'm out of luck.
I think it would be more fun to just get another scooter somehow and tinker on it for the learning experience.

Scooters are just awesome. It would be awesome to work with them, period. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a scooter on craigslist to rebuild, but until then I don't know the first thing about dealing them. My Uncle Scott actually gave me $200 for the zook, then he took it for a test drive and I had to give him his money back because it wouldn't takeoff. I think something is wrong with the clutch or the belt is finally worn out after 23 years. If you still want the thing I'm asking $250 or equivalent in trade.

[replyingto=kingkaymo]kingkaymo[/replyingto]On the engine, by the CVT it says "AF05E-8501580" On the bottom by the vin# it says "HO N DA GA (in japanese) A-AF26", so it looks like yes it is the same engine as another honda . Is that the spree, or aero?

Funny that we here on the forum start talking about scooter dealing, and then the lady sends me another email telling me that she is getting a small business license in order to start dealing scooters. She wants me to take the train to where she lives, just an hour away, in order to do maintenance on the scooters she plans to sell.
The first scooter she wants me to work on is a honda spree. xD
