Quick question, without actually removing the carb how do I know the actual measurements of it? I'm considering buying a new one to just have since their extremely affordable. As it stands my entire scooter is stock and in my signature line is make, model etc for my scooter. I want to slowly begin buying extras to have for just in case purposes. thank you in advanced

the plug i replaced was bad it had a burnt smell to it. i also changed the fuel filter and hoses again thinking it was clogged or a pin hole (same for vacuum hoses)so those are good

Replaced the spark plug still nothing. I do believe a rebuild is in the works. Glad eastern winters are long enough to keep me occupied with troubleshooting and gettin her going.
Yes he knew it was a 4 stroke. Not a dumb question at all. But why would you ask if he knew the difference? I just wanna know why you ask so that I can possibly check for a mistep somewheren on his part

So I loaned my uncle my scooter to get back and forth to work. He's owned plenty as well as regular motorcycles, so i trust him with her and for him to take proper care of her.
well the starter went and we easily replaced that she fired right back up and was off for the races.
next day it just begin bogging down on him that if he didn't give it some throttle it would stall. he was able to get it to his house now it wont fire up. It'll turn over but that's it and the battery is fully charged.
I took off the air box to see if maybe it was dirty it still looks pretty new. But when i pulled the whole air box out and undid the clamp from the throttle I noticed ALOT of oil dumping out. So while on its center stand i checked the dipstick and the oil is right where it should be at.
Right now I'm stumped as to why she wont fire up any more as well as why its dumping oil the way it is. I'm thinking my piston rings may be shot and its time to rebuild the top end.
Any others with some insight, suggestions??? I have all winter but would really like to get the jump on this now and maybe get in one more run before the fall is over.
any help. suggestions, comments good or bad im all ears...
My Scooter info should be in my signature if not i'll edit this and put it in here...

[replyingto=scootnwinn]scootnwinn[/replyingto]Sorry I should have explained. I'm getting major oil into my airbox. I believe one of my piston rings could be to blame. And since ill have it apart why not just go ahead and rebuild the top end. I was considering upgrading. Going to weigh out the cost between tools (if I don't have em), new parts, upgrade kit and anything else that would go along with an upgrade

So this winter I plan on doing a complete rebuild of my stock 150cc (short case) engine while I attempt to get my panels a chrome dip and powder coat the frame.
My question is this, what is a "complete" list of needed tools before I take this job on. I hate to be in the middle of a job and then have to run out and buy something.
I plan on leaving it all stock no bbk's or anything. Any jelp is appreciated.

Blue headlights aren't legal in Pa. At least in Beaver County. I got pulled over and was given a warning.

[replyingto=brandjur]brandjur[/replyingto]nice i think this should be added to the tech files...its much easier to follow as all you need to do is print it if your out working in the garage instead of trying to follow a youtube video....thanx brand

when my cavalier got stolen i gave up hope and bought another one. little over a year later i get a call that they located my car. ignition was popped but everything else was intact. SAD thing though it was 6 blocks away in a garage and they only drove it at night... so when i got it back i had two identical cars, same color and everything now i have it on blocks with the brakes pulled for my son once he passes his permit test next month...
