JR had a fellow on his forum that was getting rid of his Jonway 250, long story but I was happy to take it. Well I got up at 3:30 this morning picked up a friend and took a trip to get the scooter. We got there just after 9:00, got home at 4:30. Here are a couple pictures of it I got a set of seals for it and will pull the flywheel off to see if it is just the key, I think I may have one that will fit and if the crank is not damaged, it should be an easy and cheap fix. I just wanted to sat Thanks to Lou for letting me have it.

A good friend told me they were all built by Jonway. He is usually right about these kinds of things.
Are they good bikes? well I think it is like the GY6 bikes, you need to do your part to make them as good as they can be.

Frank,
I totally understand and agree. I could list a few things I have seen in the emergency room over the years that still burn fresh in my memory, people would not like to read it though I don't think.

Depends on your riding.
Yup most not all two strokes are faster that a four stroke, and in some states you would be stuck with buying a used one if you want it.
If you get one a minarelli type is the one to get, they have lost of after market speed stuff available for them and it works well.
As far as sound goes I understand the newer ones sound better but in the old days they did sound like a weed eater or a chain saw because those are almost all 2 stroke motors.

Hello Hank, how is life treating you.

You will probably see a decrease in weight capacity in one spring scooters. Not to be confused with a monoshock design though.

Looks well secured.
Oh I also made a strap wrench to hold round things with, it worked very well on the flywheel of my riding lawn mower so I could loosen that bolt.

Same way you would if you were using a wrench, I made a spanner wrench for me that will hol it, I have seen posts were people use a piece of plywood that had a couple bolts through it, there is a gizmo you can screw into the spark plug hole that keeps the motor from turning over, and a piece that is a toothed device you bolt to the housing and it goes into the teeth the starter on a 50cc turns the motor with, oh one last thing, an old shade tree mechanic way to keep the motor from turning over is to feed a quarter inch rope into the spark plug hole so it occupies the space and the piston can not come up you have to put a good amount of rope in there.

You can laways try a breaker bar and use a good socket. If that does not give you the leaverage a pipe for extending the bar should do it.

You DID go to the emergency room didn't you.
Glad you are walking but you need attention in my opinion.

Adobe shockwave is needed? I wouldn't know why, that is a music player. Do you have some strange file that only shockwave plays?
