For a while, the Roketa (aka mc54) was the cheapest 150/250cc bike you could buy on the market. Nowadays there are a lot more offers, but initially the roketa was for many the cheapest scoot you could buy.
I see lots of topics about it, with problems. Do you think quality has been severely compromised because of price? Or do you think that the Roketa is actually a good bike, and there's a lot of 'problem' topics, because they may have sold more bikes than any other?

A good friend told me they were all built by Jonway. He is usually right about these kinds of things.
Are they good bikes? well I think it is like the GY6 bikes, you need to do your part to make them as good as they can be.

I agree, for the price you cannot beat them, they come with the good 244cc Helix Clone motor or the 257cc Linhai Clone motor. The most common problems you hear that are a PITA is the overheating. But once you get that squared away they run and run. Some complain about shuddering taking off slow but that is just the CLUTCH slipping and is usually caused by the rider himself babying it when starting off. The bikes are heavy to start with and trying to start off slow there isn't enough centrifugal force yet to have the pads swing out and grab the bell really good. So the bell starts to slip and glazes the pads which makes it worse. Best thing to do is give it some MOJO get the scoot moving then back off the throttle.
Same with my Trike it is heavy 350 lbs plus my wieght 180lbs. I crank on the throttle get the weight moving and then back off. No problems with shuddering. My trike was made from 250 roketa and they put in a GY6 150 motor in it. Alleyoop

It's nice to hear about the impressions of others. I personally do think too, that the engines, be it linhai or CFMOTO, are great engines. They (engine and CVT) are usually mounted in another factory, than the bikes.
So I believe my question should have been, taking engine and CVT out of consideration; whatever is left of the bike, that identifies it, is that good or bad? (eg: dash, electronics, suspension, tires, ...)?

Have had my Roketa for a year and a half now. Will break the 6000 mi. mark very soon. This bike has never left me stranded and any adjustments have been easy access. Performance/Mod parts have been readily available. Was planning on keeping it stock and reliable, but I caught the Mod bug and it was on. Now it's Modded and reliable..No major breakdowns.
Just my experience...of course I've been with "this" forum, from old to new and have received good advice from our members...and I read almost every thread to learn as much as I can.
Thanks to everyone here.
