would it constantly leak oil, would it be underpowered, and be loud enough to wake the dead, like all Harleys

Underpowered? ?? Where do you get your information. Loud enough to wake the dead, yeah lots of them are. Jim

Jim That's cause you're a motorcycle mechanic, and are able to fix yourself what it took years of AMC to screw up. Did I tell the story about how I was stopped for loud pipes, at Sturgis, on my HONDA!!!! (Shadow Sabre) Yea, a scooter is a scooter, and if made proper and priced for the cost of the scooter, and not inflated cause of the name, yea, I'd buy one. The part about this being the time, well, I dunno. I know 'we' here all think scooters are the shi...thing...but most of the rest of 2 wheelers think that their V Twin is the shi...thing. I plan to do a trike conversion on my Honda Sabre, and may keep a Maxi Scooter (maybe a Burgman 650) in the geeeradge for fun. Jim, Thanx again. My happiness for the future depends on YOU. If YOU fail me, I'm coming to get ya. (LOL)

No. I am not a harley style guy. If I bought a motorcycle it would be a sportbike, the scooter I bought looked sporty to me, Harley's do not. Just personal taste.

I would, my 1993 full dresser never leaked a drop of oil and never let me down. Had lot's of power and when they are new are not loud, the owners make them loud.
