No the spark plug was in there when I turned the fan. When you spin the engine with the fan , does it get harder to turn at times. Or did it stay that easy ? I am not sure about this. I think it stays easy to turn. I did not want to turn it many times and now that I have the top end out I am not sure I should try turning it.

No , if the top end is off you won't feel the compression caused by the piston and top end. I would get another opinion here about replacing the top end or a new ring and cylinder hone. You really don't want to use the same rings .

Thank you geh. I am deciding if I should just get the stock top end or upgrade to bbk.
I just found out that I have the secret 63cc too. So I feel sad replacing it with 49cc top end.

If you are worried about cost I still recommend a stock replacement. Once you get into the BBK arena you have to worry about upgrading the crankshaft and other parts due to the extra torque place upon the engine and drivetrain.

I've been running a 100cc (83cc really) BBK for a year and a half with the stock crank. It is a myth that you need to upgrade the crank with a BBK, it's not necessary. Since you have a secret 63, I would definitely recommend a BBK rather than stock 49cc jug and piston. You can use all the other stock parts, including head and crank.
When the head is on and the spark plug is installed, it should be harder to turn at some points (during compression), and then the valves open making it easy to turn again till the compression stroke starts again.

I will see how much price different is and order the parts asap. Thanks a lot for all the inputs here. I am really appreciate all your helps. I am sure I will come back with more questions after the parts arrive. Hope everyone will still stay with me

I also have a stock crank , I only went with a 58.5 bbk over the stock 57mm , but with all the other mods I have, my scoot is running much stronger then when it was stock . my crank has between 17,and 18,000 miles on it . I was recently concerned that it may be going bad , but I'm pretty sure I found the cause of the noise I was hearing . I'll no within the next few days.

Do you use bigger carb with the BBK? I wonder if I end up getting the BKK whatesle I should upgrade to match the BKK performance.

If you haven't, you'll need a set of feeler gauges to set the valve clearance(s). A set with .002-.004in at least ( or .05-.1mm).
Also an impact wrench is excellent for removing both nuts on the pulleys in the transmission. Also for the flywheel behind the fan. I use it to remove my rear tire.
A torque wrench is a must, IMO, for torquing down the head bolts.
Really don't need any other special tools for working on these scoots, other than a flywheel puller if you ever need to remove the flywheel.

I would see if you can get the same size BBK that you have now,,then just upjet,do the UNI pod filter,and free flow pipe. Those stock carbs are a pain sometimes to get the float bowl off or get to the A/F screw,,I got an aftermarket keihin and its awesome!
Dont forget to clock the new rings properly and check the end gap quick...also those pesky dowels,,make sure you put all of them back where they belong too.
Also you dont need a bigger carb,,just a bigger main jet for a bbk,,but a bigger carb will increase performance too,,just might not use the same size jet that the stock carb ran good with...I have a 24mm stock size on my 150 and it runs like a banshee with the BBK and the big 120 main jet.
All your ports need to match,carb,intake manifold,ect..not as important when smaller section is upstream,,like a smaller carb going into a bigger intake,,into a bigger head,,thats fine,,you just dont want to go with a big carb and smaller intake,smaller head,exhaust..ect....

I'm a big fan of using a bigger carb , I would go up 2mm on the carb size from stock , if u decide to get one .

I just bought a set of feeler gauge and torque wrench but was hesitated to get an impact wrench. Now I am mad at myself that I didn't get it when it was on sale last weekend.
I am planning to get 100cc (83cc) BBK and a new carb (I tried to unseal the stock carb but it is really hard without proper tools). The stock carb is 19mm but I could not find 21mm carb within my budget. I found a 20mm one which the seller claims that it is set for the BBK but it does not come with the matching intake manifold though.
So I think I will get 19mm keihin (cheaper than the 20mm too) with some different size jets and use the old stock parts I have. This combination will cost me the least.

Did u look on eBay ? They are usually pretty cheap , around 30 bucks or so . an impact is pretty Mich a necessity. U will have a heck of a time removing the variator and clutch without it.
