I believe stock on most 50cc is a 78. Since yours was originally a secret 63, it may have had a larger stock jet.

Hmmm, I actually thought most stock carbs were jetted in the mid 70's-- 74-76 range. Clearly that's another reason people should check the size, who knows what they throw in there.

The main jet is really 81. It took me all afternoon to get those 3 sealed screws out to see the 2 jets inside. If typical stock carbs are jet at low to mid 70, then it makes sense that mine had been running rich by the previous owner.
Another thing that I misunderstood this whole time is the secret 63cc. I roughly measured the piston starting from 1cm and saw it ended at close to 5cm so I got excited and thought the piston was 44mm (that was so dumb) but it is actually 39mm. I just found out today after I got new piston and rings to compare the size. So I have 44mm piston and ring sets here that cannot be used...lol
For the valve, I did not measure it when I first took the top end out. I just remembered that it should be 0.03 inch. But it looked like almost 0.5 inch at the time. However I am not sure about this at all. It might just be me that exaggerating of everything I saw in there for the first time. thank you for the reminder about how to do it. To be honest, I have not carefully checked how to adjust the valve yet. I will sure watch YouTube several times before I do that.

A couple things here. You are shooting for .003in for the valve gaps (not .03in). But yeah, there are some great tutorials out there.
I thought you ordered the 83cc (aka 100cc) kit, that comes with the proper cylinder for the 50mm piston and rings, gaskets? Where did the 44mm piston come from that you said you cannot use? I'm a bit confused, sorry.
When you get that new carb it'll probably have a different jet anyway.

Oh thank you for the correction about the valve.
I ordered the 100cc kit and new carb which are here already but I would like to try everything out with stock parts first so I ordered 44mm piston and ring sets. Because I first thought I had the secret 63cc engine. When the 44mm piston came I figured it did not fit in the stock cylinder then I found out the scoot is not secret 63. It is 50cc scoot. I also tried to hone the stock cylinder but the drill I borrowed from my friend has only one speed which is too fast for me to handle the hone properly. I'm going to take the hone and cylinder to my school mechanic shop and see if I can borrow a drill to finish the job.
