Well I can tell you right now your RPMS are way off, 4000 rpms is nothing the motor is way down in power at those RPMS. If its a 50cc motor the RPMS should be at Least 6000 if its a 150cc the motor RPMS should be at Least 7000 rpms. So I think your problem are the weights in the Variator are to heavy or there is a problem in the CVT. It is easy to change weights and not really hard at all. Here is a VIDEO on how to change weights in the Variator. Alleyoop

Do you think my tachometer is faulty? Those are the numbers its displaying, and it is a 150cc bike.
Ill try changing the weights. What size weights do you think would be optimal for this?

I would have to hear the motor to tell you if the RPMS are that far off, At 6K-7K+ the motor is cranking out pretty good.
As for the weights the 150s run really good with either 11grams or 12 grams weights. I myself run with 12gram weights on my Trike with a KOSO 115mm Variator. Alleyoop

Hmm... well I dont have a GoPro camera or anything so I dont have any way of recording video while riding. I could make a video of it while its on the center stand, but thats gonna be way different than when its actually got a rider on it and its on the road. For the record, when its up on the center stand, it'll get up to maybe 6000RPMs.
I went for a ride today and paid extra attention to the RPMs at various speeds. Here's what I got:
Idle speed: 2000 to 2200 RPMs 5-15 MPH: 2500to 3000 RPMs 16-25 MPH: 3200 to 3700 RPMs 26-40 MPH: 3800 to 4200 RPMs 41-50 MPH: 4400 to 5000 RPMS. The only way I can get above 40MPH is if Im going at least a little bit downhill. I have to be going down a fairly large hill to get up to close to 50 MPH.
If you have any ideas for how I can get a recording of the engine while actually riding, please let me know.
So would the 12 gram weights have more of an effect on my issue than the 11s, or vise-versa?

I can get up to 7K RPM with my tall gears 16/37 no problem doing just over 60 on my speedo(prolly 58 on GPS),,I use 13g sliders,,its a perfect combo....it cruises between 5-6K 40-50 MPH all day long...still waiting for Walter..

The 11 gram weights will give you about 500 more RPMS than the 12 grams will. That is a 150cc you have and I am sure it is a 157QMJ motor. With 12 grams your rpms should be around 7000 or a little more at Wide Open Throttle. The 150s make their MAX horsepower right around 7500 rpms. So I would go with the 12 gram weights, and may I say it should do 50mph on the flats NOT downhill unless you have a tired motor. Alleyoop

Sounds like low compression at it should be able to hit 7K or more . Oh heck yes a gram or two lighter can help so much in your case . My 4T 50 I went from 8g to 5g and WOW ! My Echarm which is a 150 but LC engine , I removed the rollers and they weighted 12.2g . I put in 12g Dr Pulley sliders and gained 5 MPH on the top end with a better power curve too .

I have 2013 tao tao evo just like jersey boys scooter. I have the same pipe as him also . I like what he has done so I follow his comments. I am looking to get a big bore kit because i have developed a bad case of blow by. I saw the one on ebay that jersey boy said he is looking at but he says he is waiting on "walter" Who is he and what does he offer? Is it better? Also what gears are in my scooter? I would like to gear mine down for more torque. Does anyone have any recommendations? I drive in town and back roads only pretty much. Back to the blow by issue. Ebay has these cheap 40 dollar "nitrous" kits. They have little cartridges that look like co2 cartridges for your BB gun and they claim nitrous is in them. I don't believe it but anyway I bought one had it for a month or so before i put it on because I kinda knew it was bs. Anyway I put it on used it in short bursts like it recommended and it was laim and only lasted a couple very short bursts. So no biggie I took it off , drove it home from my shop and I had oil all over my floorboard . Now I use a catch can (8 oz sprite bottle) and it gets half full in a rather short time, maybe 100 miles or so. So that is why I am looking into a big bore kit.

Catch cans attached to the Oil Fill plug is not good that is where your pump is. Just think about it, now oil is being pumped into the catch can as well as in the hose and now your crankcase is that much lower of oil. Those catch cans is just another gimmick to relieve you of some coins. Alleyoop

I am sorry , I should have explained better. The gas/oil mix is coming from my valve cover breather. I had it up higher than the cover with a fuel filter on it for a long time, then after the fake nitrous it started spraying oil/fuel out of the hose. so now i made the hose longer and have it running into a 8 oz sprite bottle . I have a vent hole drilled in the bottle for ventalation. I will post a pic soon . Thanks for the reply alley.

I use 10 gram weights with a new belt and top out around 7500 rpms on a straight run . More than likely your tack is not off . The rpms sound about right at the speeds you've shown. I'm gonna go back and read the last few pages to get caught up.

I am sure the catch can isnt the best that is why i thought i would fix it with the big bore kit. Here is the kit I am looking at. I believe it is the same one jersey is looking at . What do you think about this kit alley?

Id think you should still be able to get your rpms up much higher then 4000 even with stock weights , giving u only weigh 170. From what I read you've never checked them and usually as the belt or weights ware the rpms rise on you . It does sound more like low compression. Or there is something else wrong with the cvt other then just the weight of the rollers .

I've ordered many parts from "gy6racingteam" I've never had a problem with them and they ship everything very fast .
