I have now had my Powermax 150 for 1 year. I am going to telling all the good, bad, ugly you want to know. feel free to ask whatever. When i first got the moped I was trading in a jonway 50cc after an old lady T-boned me at a stop sign (yeah... great way to start life on 2 wheels right?). any who i traded up to the tao tao. first issue i had was it was wired backwards and caught fire 1 hour off the lot. too be fair it was the assemblers fault, not the factory. 2nd issue the speedometer has always been WAY! off. don't kow why either cause as of breaking in i hit 75mph on flat easy, so i chalk it up to chinometer quality, not cheating numbers. 3rd... the odometer.....just stopped at 700 miles. never worked again. i think i was due to it catching on fire day one as it stopped a week later. 4th on my way home some jackass wasn't watching there pitbull and it ran out of a tree line 20 feet in front of me. i was going down a steep hill about 45mph and nollied.....maybe flipped. not sure. the forks were twisted and had to replace the whole front end. i however took 5 months and need surgery on a bone in my hand(still ridingv though.). the people moved out of that house a week later -_-. i will say aside from a scar on the side the body held up very well. confirmed it IS fiberglass and not shabby at that. 5TH issue, the muffler fell off last week after rattling and shaking it's self to pieces for 6 months. i wasn't surprised. bought a after market one and dammed all if the pipe doesn't fit. BIG issue. having a welder bend it this week. total cost $105. it IS a pain. if you ever get one kitted. let THEM install it or get a custom. most bikes aren't an issue with the pipe but some GY6 moped are to wide for it.
moped price was $1050 with 3 month warranty. front end cost me $450 including repair. muffler so far $105. total investment $1605. my thought on it? i love it. like i said i get 70MPH easy. i have pushed the handling to the limits. taking mid turn going 50mph. even sparking my kickstand. i get 70 mpg city. if you get one i suggest drop $100 in after market parts like pegs and mirrors. it's a sweet ride for so cheap.

tucked in, on the freeway, friend following in a ford F150. yes. day off the lot it did 65, the 2013 is faster then the 2012. my dealer/mechanic couldn't figure it out either. it's a four stroke and it SAYS.. IT says. 10 HP. i weigh 160. also there's almost no wind ...ever here.

Considering some people can't get 75 mph with a bbk and gears I'm doubting any stock scooter can do it. It takes a lot of money to get a 150cc that fast. Is it possible? Yes but only after lots and lots of major upgrades.

it's possible they modeled some of the new parts after previous mods.the Chinese market is finally getting competitive which is why you can't get a 150 for $600 wholesale anymore. i mean taotaos would self destruct 5 years ago and were plastic hunks of shat. or maybe the freeway is more down hill then i think(doubt it.) but i'll tell you i have NO issue on the freeway. i have never my self seen the speed. i'll get pic or video done soon to check and upload the results. i do know my friend has a 2012 jonway 150cc and for some reason he can barely hit 50mph and can't keep up.

75 real mph seems far fetched unless you are going downhill and have a tail wind mine did 71 GPS on the highway with a slight tail wind but I have a very tall gear and have modded the heck outta it my Speedo was maxed at 80.

Its very unlikely a 150 with stock gears is capable of those speeds mine wouldn't hit over 65 GPS even with the 15 37 set had to go to 17 36 to reach the speeds im getting and you need a bbk and a stroker to run that tall of a gear.

like i said. i never saw the read out but i'v never had an issue on the freeway. when i get this new muffler on i'll run a good speed test and get video and let you guys know the verdict. regardless it IS much fast then most 150's i have seen. it leave my friends jonway in the dust.

Yeah, unlikely you hit those speeds. Keep in mind that the speedos on these units are almost always off by ~10, and they are also typically in KPH not MPH.

75 mph on a stock 150cc? Ummmm NO. 75 kph maybe..lol..mine with mods might do 55-60mph with a tail wind if Im lucky..lol..cruises perfect between 35-45(sweet spot). If anything the mods just made it run more efficient.. Do yourself a favor and have somebody in a car run in front of you at 50 MPH,,I bet you will have a very hard time keeping up if you can..lol

I had a honda nq50 just a Typical 1989 50Cc moped. I took it to work and back every day going at least 65mph i got three tickets for speeding and each one was for 50 mph or more so yes i believe that he has a scoooter that goes 75 if its a 150cc

NQ50 hondas only did 30mph if you were lucky BRO, the specs FROM HONDA for those are all over the place. The speedo might have said 65 but those scoots are so tiny that it may feel like going 100mph(HEHE).

As for the Powermax 150 I will say 55mph the rest is speedo error or pushed off the grand canyon for the 75mph reading.

No matter how much better they are making these scoots I dosent make sense . Most that modify their scoot use better quality parts and still can't hit 75 on a straight run . The fastest I've gone was 68 mph on a straight run and that's crouched over , I've hit 79 down a very steep long hill once with heavier weights in at around 8200 rpms. How much do u weigh if u don't mind ? That's the only way I can see the scoot running even close to 75mph . I weigh about 210 and a buddy of mine took my scoot for a ride , he weighs 130 and he said he was going between 70 and 75 but my scoot isn't stock , this is something many would have to see to believe . " no offense " . Also what size wheels is on your scoot ? . I ran into someone on a smaller 150 and I asked him how fast it when and he said about 75mph , you think he would have noticed cars passing him in a 45 mph zone . I find myself riding the a-ses of cars now instead of the other way around " and that's at cruising speed" when I'm on the highway I have to run near or at wot to keep with everyone else running between 60-70 .

Just to let you know I got crap for saying my scoot hit 68 on a straight run , that's how unbelievable it is for a stock 150 to hit 75 mph. Also we're not sayin your lying we're saying your speedo is way off. Let's say you r hitting 75 on a straight run , I would then say your compression is high for some reason and your your engines not gonna last to long .
