Ok... Scootn... After the mechanic bought a new belt (after he was told that I just put a new one on lastnight) & put it on, he now claims its the Clutch. So, he said the clutch is $75 & another however much in labor plus the cost of the belt & labor for that... Anyways, he said it would have been like $180. or something. If you would like to call him here is his # (843) 845-2628 & his name is Terry.

[replyingto=dykimusprime]dykimusprime[/replyingto]Yeah,,the easiest way is to use an IMPACT wrench to remove the old one cause the clutch bell will spin when you try to turn the nut,,guess you could put a zip tie on the rear brake handle or have somebody hold the rear brake on tight while you loosen the nut also might work. We are all here to help you,,good luck!! Tom

it is easiest to use an impact bc of the torque on it but you can just go old school like i did and put a broom btw the spokes on your rear wheel to prevent it from spinning and take it off that way.

Did he take the belt back or make you buy it?
There is some chance the clutch is not bad but just glazed like I mentioned on the first page. Chances are you have the right parts to fix it but you normally want to be sure before you order. Do you have an impact wrench? If not is there a harbor freight store mere you?

He charged me $35 when he brought my scooter back to me... So, Apparently I had to pay for the new belt, even after I told him that I just replaced it the night before plus labor. Then after I spoke to him & said that it wasn't the belt & was the clutch, I told him to bring the scooter back to me because I couldn't afford the $75 clutch plus his labor charges. So, I ordered one off eBay & I'm gonna attempt to fix it myself. Thanks newbs, that's a pretty nifty trick, I believe I will try that. I think my girlfriend's brother has an Impact wrench though. So, either way, I SHOULD be able to get this done. Is it tricky? Like do I have to it a certain way for it to work? or does it just simply bolt back on?
scootn: What does glazed mean? I think I may have missed that part. D8 Did you call the Mechanic guy like you say you would? I'm just curious what he said.

I didn't see the update till last night at 9 so no but if you want me to call him I need to know your name... PM your real name if your comfortable with that. Glazed means it has lost its abrasive surface you can re surface them with sand paper

I'm am not certain he actually did anything to determine your clutch is bad he was just going to replace it. I asked him what part of it was bad and I think he said all of it. So any way don't go back there we can get you through this. He also abosolutely refused to give up your bolts he no matter how he was asked insisted there was no extra bolts in his shop and refused to look. Sorry a personal visit may have been more effective. I think we really do need a [[Scooter Justice League]] like we had talked about all those months ago... Glazing is usually shiny burnt looking parts. Take some sand paper to the housing and the pads you might just cure it. If you just replace it it's pretty straight forward only fits one way kind of deal. Make sure the old one is clean looking any lubrcant in there will cause the same issue...
