ramblinman: No, the warranty JUST ran out right before all these problems started happening. Seriously, I believe it was only by a day or 2. That's just my luck though... Hopefully, this mechanic will know what he's doing, he's the only moped mechanic in the area.. & hopefully it won't be too expensive. He said based on our phone call that it sounds like a loss of compression to him & if thats what it is its gonna cost $125.00 to fix that... But, if that was the problem wouldn't the moped not being revving up trying to go? bummer about no warranty... if it is a total loss of compression then it wouldn't even start. you've had so many problem with your valves/camshaft that whatever is causing the problem has likely lowered the compression. i still think the root of the problem is the oil pump. make sure he checks that.

Just got off the phone from the mechanic, he seems to think its the belt. That is was stretched. Thing is, That is a brand new belt that I put on last night... D8 So, he said he went & bought a new belt & that so far my cost is $60.00 & thats even IF that is the problem! *sigh*

when u stop the rear tire from spinning does your belt stop spinning ? if not i would expect the clutch. he said it seems like it was the belt , what size did u use ?

I don't remember the size off hand, but I know when I ordered it, it was the same size as the one that it came with. I can't look at the belt with the cvt cover off because my starter gear will pop out. Its been like that, as long as the cover is on, it starts up fine. I know that is an issue all in itself. I do know, though when I use my hand to move the belt, I can see the gears inside the clutch move & the tire moves as well.

if your rpms are raising a you sit on it and your not moving . i would expect either the belt slipping or you have a clutch problem.

When I had it up on the center stand & twisted the throttle, It will rev up, it took about 5 seconds for the back tire to engage (with no weight on it) & even then I could stop it with my hand. If the scooter is on its tires & I'm sitting on it, it will rev up but won't move at all. & I only weigh 130 lbs.

if it was a compression prob i would expect the clutch to engage at normal rpms and as the clutch engages the engine should die down . thats why i think its cvt prob .

I still vote for the belt or something CVT related. Sounds like he's on the right track. Perhaps you ordered the right belt and received the wrong one... I here sometimes manufacturers ship faulty products...

Its possible, I guess. I sure hope he figures this thing out without it costing me an arm & a leg, cause if it does, then I won't be able to push it if it should break down again!

If that doesn't fix it and he says it needs more parts tell him you will come and pick it up and tell him you would like to return the belt. You are paying him to diagnose and correct your problem if he is just throwing parts at it you can do that yourself with out the labor charges. If he tries to add anything else let us know and you can send me his phone number and your "brother" can have a mechanic's training session with him. I am totally serious he shouldn't need to replace more than one part (unless they touch each other and other vary rare instances) and I will call him...
