I have the Gerbings heated gloves , jacket liner and shoe insoles . I plug into my 150cc , I did the 11 pole stator upgrade . I wear a sweatshirt the jacket liner , a jacket that breaks the wind and snowboard pants . I only turned on the gloves 1/3 power . Full face with the hat with the eyes cut out . 30 to 40 minutes and 9 miles .
The thing that is a deal breaker is ice and potholes . The ice has been gone 2 or 3 weeks until this week the potholes have been too rough .
I need to figure out something for the electric start in the cold , not much room for a larger battery , I was thinking about the hitorque starter . I get a good spin with the kick starter but not so much with the electric in the cold .

Took off the windshield, took a ride, but it back on..... Still a bit cool in the mornings without the windshield. Maybe next month.

Got me an '06 Diamo Turista 260 for $500. 1900 miles. Can't beat that with a stick.

Tore off the front cowling of my Turista to find the radiator cap hidden behind a stupid little flip box. That was annoying. Previous owner never filled the poor thing after that nasty chinese anti-freeze boiled out. No wonder it ran hot. Replaced missing and rotted rubber well nuts after I found out the windshield was held on by only TWO out of six. Changed oil to Rotella T.

Good thing you replaced the Chinese "Kool-ade" (it's nasty stuff) and on top of everything else he never checked it and ran it dry? Sheesh! and you wonder about all the "problems" people claim to have with Chinese scoots?

Let's see. Yest I ran my scoot for a bit. Today I called my mech and made an appointment to take the scoot in tom. for his spring tune-up.
>'Kat, being hopeful we're not getting more snow and cruddy streets. Or stupid-strong gusts either.

I hear you about the wind gusts Kat! The past couple of weeks I've been riding on the edge of my lane due to the wind pushing me to the other side when a gust comes up. Some of the scariest riding I've experienced to date on my scooter, can't wait for the wind to die down!

I'm currently working at a branch on the corner of its row of shops. Wind has been terrible! I'm worried the doors are going to break! Pleasant Hill reported wind gusts up to 50 mph one day. There is NO WAY I'm driving a scooter with that nonsense going on, for the very reason you mention Jerry.
But it seems calm and still this morn--perfect for taking in my scoot! Hope it's the same come Sat when I pick him up.

I finished the new trailer hitch for my TMAX after dark last night and hitched it up in preparation for today. Today I put my camping gear in the trailer and towed for about 50 miles on various roads. I even had it up to crossing Kansas on the Interstate speeds. This steel tubing hitch tows the trailer with a lot more stability than the wood hitch did. Now, to take the hitch back off, clean it up, and paint it.

Nothing physically. Still debating on rebuilding or getting a new engine. Shopped around and found engines anywhere from $280 with a carb and extra cdi included($330 after shipping) upwards to nearly $500 (without a carb!). It amazes me the price differences on complete 139qmb engines.

I thought I was going to pick him up from the mechanic's, all spiffy from spring tune-up. Instead I called and they're waiting on an oil filter. They don't stock whatever kind mine needs. Could very well be a motorcycle shop/scooter oil filter thing. Guy was real nice and offered to let me come by and get my scoot for the weekend, since the filter wouldn't show before Monday. I said that was okay, I would only do some practise driving anyways. So I have done nothing to/with my scooter today. Sigh. Sad Piggy. Sad 'Katty. >'Kat
