Tore off the front cowling of my Turista to find the radiator cap hidden behind a stupid little flip box. That was annoying. Previous owner never filled the poor thing after that nasty chinese anti-freeze boiled out. No wonder it ran hot. Replaced missing and rotted rubber well nuts after I found out the windshield was held on by only TWO out of six. Changed oil to Rotella T.

Greetings, all! New to this site, new to mid sized Scoots, new haircut. My little 'family' consists of a purple '99 Jog Yamaha ZoomZoom (ie, the Purple People Mover, or PPM if yer hip) that my wife putts around town on. Have had that for a year and about 1,200 miles so far. Running strong with it's little 49cc engine. The newest addition is a blue '06 Diamo Turista 260 of Linhai make that I've picked up for a song. Original owner sort of neglected it, and gave it over to my care to get some use out of it. Has some slight body damage (cracked side faring, some scratches, bit of corrosion here and there), but looks new from 15 feet away. And with only 1,900 miles, it sorta IS new. So I'm here to learn about this Scoot, find some ideas to spruce it up, and read about all the other crazy things folks do to things that they motivate around on.

I hope Jim knows more than his company's website does. It's about a brain dead listing of things. Can't make heads or tails of it. But I don't want to install another 'stock part' on the Linhai. I want to put something BETTER than that simple foam 'air cleaner element' they have in the air box. What I'm thinking about is an oval shaped paper element that can fit inside the stock air box, to keep it's look and form. Perhaps to clamp to the rubber outlet part that's inside the box. I don't think the ram scoop the guy across the street has on his blocked up Trans/Camero is gonna work. Not to mention it's the wrong color.

I'm gonna boot this thread up, as I've a question along these lines as the OP. I think the Linhai air cleaner setup is a joke, and want to replace it with something more 'dependable' than a piece of foam. I've read ideas to replace it with a high intake racing cleaner, but don't wish to have to rework/rejet the carb. Any ideas on this would be appreciated. (Diamo Turista 260, '06)
