I've found a couple of MC54-style scoots on CL that are local to my area... easttexas.craigslist.org/mcy/3888877922.htmleasttexas.craigslist.org/mcy/3895755246.htmlBoth look like they have the CFMoto/Honda 244cc motor. The $1500 JCL seems a bit high for a second-hand scoot. I've contacted the seller of the Roketa requesting additional info (age/mileage/maintenance) but haven't heard back yet. Thoughts? I'm looking locally since Superior keeps pushing my order back (ordered 5/15, now on backorder until 7/15). Would I be better off waiting on my new scooter or should I buy used? Depending on mileage and the maintenance, what's best? I don't know if there was ever a PDI performced on either of these; they could have been left parked with old fuel in the carb, maybe the rollers or belt is worn... Of course, that's all assuming the owner can provide a clean title...

Both look nice. I wonder how many miles on the second one.
The first is like new with only 300 miles and has that MP4 player which is nice, but what is MP4? music or video?

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]MP4 is usually video. The Chinese, and other companies, like to put things like "MP4" or "MP5" on their radios and such because some people assume "oh wow! MP4 that must be better than MP3!", but it's not. It's just another encoding method. MP5 file format doesn't even exist, but you see it marketed on certain things.

You know what you want, afford and etc. Go see it, try it and offer them less money and see what happens. I just bought a Helix and offered 500 less than what he was asking and he said ok. Play it lke the pawn kings act interested and tell him all of the faults you see and how much to fix. You can do it.

Keltex, I have the same exact scoot as the 1st one u indicated. mine is the 2007 JCL MP250a in blue and silver. I have gotten many remarks about the 2 tone paint and it is very nice if I might say so myself. Mine has the Linhai 257 engine in it and it has been a very very good scoot. Would buy another. The Honda engine is good also but in my opinion not as strong as the linhai 257. Its a workhorse! $1500.00 is little high tho and ask where the trunk for rear rack is. It came with a blue one. 300 miles is very good. You will have to do a complete pdi if u buy it because 6 years and only 300 miles has left everything stagnant in it. Ride it and if it runs ok offer them $1000.00 to start. You may be surprised. A 2007 JCL MP250a with 300 miles for a thousand bucks would be a steal. Barnie

I always like the ads that say no scammers in them. Like the scammers even read the ad or won't scam you because you asked them not to... Anyway that one looks ok too
