Chip sealed roads as mentioned above might explain the huge difference. No chip sealed roads near me but a search of the Internet says chip seal can wear out your tires twice as fast or even faster. Just think about skin on chip seal. Very rough. We have a lot of that in our neck of the woods

Up our way, which is rural) we now have some very large farms where their manure is collected as LIQUID. SO FAR THE FARMERS KNOW THEY ARE BEING SCRUTINIZED have been very careful especially on the St Routes BUT a little careless on the county roads. Some of it does not have much odor at all and of course some you warned well in advance. Be aware because the old adage "poop happens" is quick and some of the two wheelers found out that it is slick and a lot like oil after it dries and then rains a little bit. Peaceful

Sounds to me like you got a pretty good deal, for sure. 2yrs ago I was riding a Chinese 150 and got talking to a man in the restaurant and he said he had a scooter, would I like to see it. He'd put it in the shed almost 20 yrs ago. I went and looked at it and it was a Honda Helix 1986. It was very dusty and of course being here in MI had seen a little climate. Long story Short he said Take it if you want it. It took a battery, of course, a rear tire, brake light switch and arguing with State over why it had not been liscened (He never did) and I found a crack in the frame. Come to find out the motor was a newer one an d the state insisted (demanded) that it be titled as assembled (&^%$##$%^&) So I now have 2000 Helix with low mileage and a lot of scratches from where probably some youngn's played with it before it went in the shed.. So since then I've bought one headlight bulb, replaced the front tire, added an accessory plug and 4 or 5000 miles. Caint hardly get rid of the smile. Sold the Chinese scooter and have really enjoyed the Honda 250 as it is almost bullet proof engine

;D Color TOUR Rally ;D FLUFFYBUTT style, Sat. Sept 28th @ 10:30 AM Some of the greatest weather that we have in Michigan is upon us. We will start at 10:30 AM from the Hesperia High School parking lot and it'll last about 4 to 4 1/2 hours. The school is on the south side of town right (Maple Island Division in town) on M-120. Turn between Hesperia Hardware and Fat Boy's Pizza(EAST). The exciting course inviting scenes and views at just about every corner and/or hill. Beautiful Color, farms with Orchards, vegetables, Christmas Tree growers and photography opportunities, galore. Bring your scooter, helmet, and appropriate clothing (MI weather you know). You all will be welcomed with open arms. There will be no charge for all of this enjoyment. There will be no prizes, just beautiful memories and new friends. Of course it will all be on paved (asphalt) roads that have a minimum amount of traffic. KEEP ON "SCOOTIN" Its more fun when you smile! I have just run the course and it figures out to 49 miles. So it will take 4 to 4-1/2 hours to run so it can be enjoyed by the mopeds also. That's an average of about 11 miles per hour, includes all of the stops. You can pack a lunch and eat down at the Hesperia Dam on the White River or one of the 3 great restaurants in town

YOU might want to check out the fuses, real good. If it is trying to run with the starter that means it might be picking up elec through the starter system. Also like the old Chrysler prod it could be the cdi.

Don't worry to much about the looks. I need a place for helmet, light and/or heavy jacket, rain suit and sometimes a lunch, oil and a few hand tools. Scootin,to me, is an all day adventure . I'm thankful I don't carry a female along then I'd need a trailer. Keep on SCOOTIN Smile its more FUN
