My other thread was pretty much dead so..... main jet on a 50mm BBK With after market filter bogs and very slow. With Stock air box bogs and very slow. With Stock air box with plug that has 4 holes in it taken completely out and it ran pretty good. With no filter at just completely open and it screams like a beast. I have moved the air/fuel mixture over over the place and it runs best with no filter. I'm guessing that I need to go down in jet size to I can run a filter and have it run good still. Your opinions would be very helpful.

Your right on BRO, to much fuel with the main, that is why it screams without an air filter. Good Diagnose Alleyoop

Do you know of a good place to get or 92 jets? Scrappy carries then and nothing in between. I'm thinking a will be a little to small for a 50mm BBK.

I run a MJ with my 50mm BBK, runs a tad rich but overall is very good. It's all about balancing it with the amount of air your engine is sucking in through it's intake system, the stock intake is too restrictive for a 50mm with that rich of a jet. I have a custom intake built with rubber hose, like from a car radiator, connected to the original intake snorkel (with the restrictor with 4 holes in it) and it works great. One of these days I'm going to experiment with drilling out one of the holes to get just the perfect amount of air. If you don't want to do all that, you can just run a smaller MJ with just a tad less performance (but better MPG).

CopperDeer...Would it not make it run better getting the mixture right even with a smaller just? How dose it lose performance by jetting down and getting the air/fuel right? If anything I thought it would make it run better and make the performance better also. Not saying you're wrong but I was looking at it a different way.

No no you're right, the jetting that gives you an idea A/F mixture will yield the best performance, all I was saying is if you can find a way to induce more air, then you can achieve better performance with a higher jet. So with the stock intake box, you would need to go lower than a , but if you build a custom intake you might be able to get ideal A/F with the . Depends on your exhaust too though.

Lukos. I have seen you say something about adjusting the needle. Can you explain that to me because I've never done that. I assume you mean the one connected to the diaphragm and runs through the top part of the carb. I didn't know you could adjust that.

[replyingto=desmerwebb]PCB_GY6%27n[/replyingto]I have yet to adjust my own needle because it doesn't seem to need adjusting yet, I've got no bogging, popping, backfiring, or vrapping so I've only inspected my needle. Oldchopperguy posted an excellent tutorial on raising the needle here: scooterrebels.proboards.com/thread/187/raising-carb-needle-pix?page=1P.S. How did you know my display name is spelled with an Upsilon?

Much easier to just get an open air filter
