I have been trying to get a ride together. I even started ny own group on facebook (2 wheel nation). Im currently a part of 3 different groups. I wonder if its just not ment for me to ride in a group. Ive tried all my friends that have motorcycles/scooters and everybody put me off or want to ride while im at work. I even tried planning weeks ahead but nothing ever works out!!! Guess im rolling alone!

At the risk of sounding anti-social, we prefer riding alone ;D
My wife and I ride two-up everywhere we want, oftening making decisions on the fly.
We keep our own pace, stop when we want, ride faster or slower as it pleases us. We religiously keep up all maintenance and make sure our scooter is always perfectly tuned, we have confidence that a mechanical failure won't ruin our ride.
Nobody to keep up with or wait up for, following a whim without a discussion first. Riding 50 miles in a day or 350 miles, the sky is the limit.
It is the most relaxing and satisfying kind of riding there is...

I've only ever ridden alone. Sometimes I'll see a group of bikers drive by and I tail them just to be the comical scooter following a bunch of harley riders. But nobody in this town wants to ride with me either. I don't even know anybody else with a scooter, I think my neighbor has one but he never drives it, and he's very old. I guess that's what we have this forum for. To share our solo experiences and turn them into group experiences.

I'm with gitsum. Me and the wife both ride 250s and enjoy just going off on our own. We do have clubs by us but never have the correct schedules to ride with them. BTW we are both 46, and enjoy our scoots probably more then the younger crowd.

Same here. No one to ride with. Just haven't met a scooterist around here that rides. And would be fun to ride with. I like riding alone too though I might be gettin' together with the Marietta Square riders as they get together at the square every Thurs at 7. But can't do it now due to the suspended license D8

few people in the area here with scoots we all prefer to ride alone. only time we get together are for the car cruises in our county, each town has their own, its the only time we really become a "club" lol

Frequent bathing may help. ;>
Sometimes being in a group is not all it is cracked up to be. Have to pace things for the least capable rider or bike and can sometimes spend more time dealing with people who can't ride and are constantly dropping their bikes or sliding off the road. It is a real pain when in a group of larger cruisers and one of them gets stuck in a ditch. Clunky, noisey and lots of gas fumes along with frustrating slow starts and dealing with the lag when they shift gears and loose speed.
Been there done that.
That said a 250 scooter is ok with the big cruisers but it can be frustrating dealing with the lag in power when they shift making it so you have to trail behind to give them room to start lumbering along or be constantly rolling off the throttle to approximate the shift lag of the bike ahead of you. A 250 rider in with a group of smaller scooters will after a while get frustrated and want to get moving along.

My buddies and I all have scooters to just play around with on the weekends after working 40+ hour weeks, just nice to ride in a group mess around, hit some trails and cruise. I way rather ride in a group then alone.

I way rather ride in a group then alone. Sounds like a nice set up... thats what I want to do, just cruise the back roads w/ a few peeps, I couldn't keep up with anything above 60 mph so there is a select few I'm lookin' for.
