So sounds like stock I had 69mm valves and now this new head is 64mm valves, cause when I just visually look at them from the side the stock head has the valve springs sticking out of it a lot more than the new head. Does this sound like 64 vs 69 valve problem? My guess is yes. I wish I could say definitively, but I haven't had the hands on experience with two different size heads yet. I just researched like crazy for whenever I am ready to buy a new head. I'm sure millsc will chime in with his opinion. He's had a lot more experience than me, he knows what he's talking about. From what I've heard, you may be able to just swap out the rocker arms to solve the problem.

This I realize, but it took them a week to tell me it was on hold. When i spoke to shelly on the 20'th, she said they just found out that morning. The ship was supposed to be there on the 14'th It seems to me , that if i am expecting an inmportant shipment, I would keep track of it. How is it that 6 days go by, and you don't know customs is holding it. Besides, I was told it would be about a week ( days ago. Now she tells another on Friday it would be a week to 2 weeks. Meanwhile I have no motor, carb, and plug, and no 500.00. Can you blame me for being concerned? There is no up to the min tracking on the slow boat from china . A few days without any updates is common , then customs do what ever they want to and take there sweet time doing it . Customs does not care that the container they are holding has your engine in it and that you paid for it ahead of time . To head off problems like this I don't offer products that I don't have in hand . I will offer an Item that is in on its way to me that I have domestic tracking for . I'm sure Scrappys will do what is right in the end . I would be upset with delays when I'm out pocket for the goods . John

you'll have to switch the rocker arms, but it still looks like its just sitting wrong, maybe you have the assembly upside down.

If customs seized a container and is being held by customs scrappies hands are tied . You can't fault him for that . I can buy an engine and rebuild it with a BBK and resell it . It would take me a week to 10 days to get the engine then a day or so to do the work , then reship . If there is a problem with shipping its not my fault . John Well the website said 1 in stock... That's why I ordered it, If i had known he didn't have one in stock and that it had not even cleared customs then I absolutely would not have bought it.. I can do a bbk myself, I even have the stuff to do it.. The only thing I was trying to do was save time.... If he don't have it in stock, his website should show that so buyers can make an informed decision.

Where is a good place to order the rockers from? Scrappys doesn't seem to sell it on their site. I wish they had told me about this issue when I ordered from them.

Is there any performance or reliability difference between 64 mm and 69mm valves? Or just different design? Just don't wanna go backwards in performance with anything

No performance difference ive had both, probably easier to replace the whole assembly if your not comfortable taping the pins out of your old assembly, some have trouble tapping them out

You know what i did with shorter valves, was I took the locking nuts off the top and put them on the bottom, It was a suggestion on another forum... All I can say is it worked, and they never came loose.

he has the opposite problem, the valves are too long, no way to remedy it besides changing the valve length.

Still by the pic i think the assembly could be upside down, personally i'd turn it around and try it before i bought any parts

Ok I'll give it a try turning it over, I believe the new valves are 64 while the old ones were 69
