...the guy selling said it was a 50! It looks exactly like the 50cc version of the Agility, and it doesn't say 125 on it. I found out on the test ride when I gunned the throttle and just about popped a wheelie! Then I looked at the speedometer and it went up pretty high. When I got back I commented to the guy, "Gee, that's pretty fast for a 50cc". He said "Oh, yeah. Just tell the cops its a 50cc". It's a nice bike, but I don't want to deal with someone who is that dishonest. Plus the dude was drunk, cussing up a storm and using openly racist remarks, apparently not realizing that I'm not white! I think I'll pass!

Just because you don't like him does not make the scooter a bad deal. Don't let him being a idiot keep you from it if you like it.

[replyingto=admin]Doug[/replyingto]I don't even know if he had a title for it since he rides it without registration or plate and pretends it's a 50.

Went through that mess two weeks ago. ie...second owner, no title, no registration....nothing. Tried for a week...fruitless endeavor....
Was told on here..."No title, no way"...They were right. I wasted my time and energy trying to get the guy to do his part. And he was sober as far as I know...lol

I once saw a cool looking scooter on craigslist. The poster didn't tell the engine size, but I could see a "moped" registration sticker on it, so I assumed it was a 50cc.
Anyways, I ended up in some ghetto with aggressive looking people who only spoke Spanish trying to sell me the scooter. The scooter took off really fast during my test ride and when I asked to see the title, I leaned it was indeed a 150cc.
About six months later, I saw the same scooter on craigslist again. This time it was listed as a 180cc.
So yeah, sucks when people pull that move. I too wouldn't want to deal with that guy.

I'd take full advantage of the sucker and buy it. Work out the details later

Just keep repeating No Title No Deal! If he has the Title and the name on it matches the name on his drivers license then its up to you.

A real easy way to tell is if the seat has a flip-up backrest on the 50cc's If it has a one-piece seat, then it's the 125cc. Aside from the guy being a jerk...I would have bought it on the spot (if the scoot was in decent shape) www.kymcousa.com/showroom/scooters/agility50/index.htmlwww.kymcousa.com/showroom/scooters/agility125/index.html

I talked to the guy again today when he was sober, and despite his dishonesty about pretending it's a 50, he is actually pretty nice. He was not swearing a blue streak, and was not making racist comments, actually talking quite nicely with me and another Hispanic guy, and really enjoyed talking about scooters. He does not have a title for it and I had to turn him down. He understood and everything was cool. When he brought out the case of beer however, that's when I had to go. Oh, I also found out that the scooter has almost 10,000 km on it and had been run out of oil at one point. I would have just been asking for problems with the scooter.

I would snag it up before the cops inpound it from driving on it drunk lol, if its been registered before at some point you could file for lost title I believe, but im not 100% sure on that, its worth checking into though.
haha I bet you coulda talked him down alot, LOL take advantage of hes disadvantage.

It should also be out of state title no deal too. If they claim it's no big deal to get a new title, let the seller do it.

I was talking with my neighbour and he was saying this guy regularly drives his scooter when he's so drunk he doesn't even know where he is, at 50-60mph though town, and he has never been busted by the police, or crashed. If I ever see him on the road, I'll go the other way!
