Just Registered my scoot as a 50cc moped! lol Yup,,I was worried that I would get in trouble for falsifying info,,but when it comes down to it the DMV is actually the one who is at fault for over looking the actual cc of the scooter,....cant wait till next time man Im walking out of the DMV with a ped plate and a huge grin,,just play dumb if you ever get caught,,"hey its the plate she handed me after I gave her all my info? ??"

Well thanks for the info man, A drum rear wheel should fit that swing arm I would think...then all you will need is a wheel instead of rebuilding the old block.

I know,, I should have just kept my pie hole shut(it always gets me in trouble),,the registration would have been $18 or something like that,,now I pay $67 a year.I guess the next scooter I get will try to reg it as a ped.

Hey lain , is your scoot registered as a moped or a motorcycle ? The DMV told me to register my scoot as a moped. When I asked if I needed a motorcycle endorsement or insurance they said they aren't required for scooters, but a good idea. The DMV told me to register my scooter as a moped also,,she handed me a moped plate then I told her it was a 150cc so she took the plate back and gave me a cycle tag for $65...I should have kept my mouth shut but did not want the hassle down the road,,especially when i roll a cop at 60MPH,,how do you explain that one...lol

I got one of those cheap mini digital tachs for my lawn mower,,it has hours on it also so I know when to change the oil,,its pretty accurate and real easy to install,,you just mount it then wrap a wire multiple times around the spark plug wire.Ebay has them for $10 or so.

My 60mm was a tight fit in my 157QMJ but it slid in like a glove.

Yeah Geh,, Did that today,,I did the bell and 3rd gen blue clutch,,love it to death so far,,very smooth and strong to say the least,,i didnt like the springs that came with it,,they didnt engage until around 4k RPM so I put my stock one's in there,,I would rather engage around 2800-3K man,,just seems a bit easier on the clutch and bell cause things are not spinning as fast,,also i dont race out of the hole,,i usually take it easy from a stop..I pretty much upgraded the clutch for longevity and durability to compensate the tall gears I have in there..the clutch doesn't fully engage until Im doing around 10 mph now..lol

You know what Geh,,Im not sure but will check this soon for you,,I know it runs about 6500 WOT until the CVT maxes out around 50 mph then it climbs RPM from there,,when I was doing 70 I was sitting upright..the RPM was about 7500 if I remember correctly. There was alot of traffic around me so Im not 100% sure, also the china speedometer Im sure is off up that high.will do a top speed run friday and check RPM for ya then post back,,I know my belt isn't going to the top of my variator face there is at least a 1\4" or more that is not shinny.
I wont be surprised if the RPM is close to 8K at top speed the way this thing runs...

Not really sure if this has been mentioned before but its a great idea to remove the clutch housing and clean(using brake cleaner and a rag)and lubricate the roller bearings and slide points of the clutch with a good quality high temp tacky grease every 2500 miles or so.Ive seen quite a few clutches wobble apart and go bad after some time due to high heat and no lube in this area.Just make sure not to get too much grease there,,focus mainly on the roller bearings that ride on the shaft...also dab a little on those pulley slide pins inside the clutch pack.
Your clutch pack will thank you!!
Happy scooting guys....

Took my CVT cover off today and cleaned my slides, sliders, greased the bushing ect....the stock black slides are in good shape no cracks,,so will leave them alone for now. I removed my stock clutch(cleaned and greased the roller bearings with tacky red Lucas) and put on the 3rd gen NCY blue racing clutch and bell,,man what a difference!! I did not like how tight the springs where that came with it,,the clutch would not engage until close to 4K RPM,,so I put my old stock springs in,,i like when it engages at 3K,,If I was drag racing then maybe I would use stiffer springs,,but Im out for cruising with a little kick...

With gears and a properly tuned 60mm BBK you should hit 70..I was doing 70 today but it was a slight downhill,,I need to go over to RT 29 and hit the flats next week,,Ill make a quick video...My speedo is really close to being dead nuts on,,we have a digital radar in town here and its rock solid with that unit at 40 MPH...I would go faster but the speed limit is 25 there..lol
