How do you know what size uni filter to use? And did you have to adjust the carb after? After installing a UNI filter more than likely your scooter wont even run right in the mid to top,,it will need to be rejetted.Atleast mine was that way...do a freeflow exhaust along with the UNI and up jet,,that will be the best mods you EVER do to the GY6 IMO!

Yup,, If the big numbers or KPH are on the top and MPH small under them,,then more than likely the odometer is in Km not Miles..he can do a quick test,,I would think he would have figured it out by now though..4000km later..lmbo!!!

Alright guys,,, It was 39 degrees out here today so I bundled up and decided to got for a 20 mile break in rip..
I had jeans, ski pants over them, tee shirt, sweater, carhardt jacket, motorcycle jacket over top that i could barley zipper lol,my mask that covers neck ski gloves, and a full face.My hands and feet started to get a little cold by the time 20 miles was up..the rest of me was warm.So bundled up I couldn't even move except for twisting the throttle..lol
The motor ran perfect,,the ride had a few big hills I kept it at 5K-5.5K 40 MPH most of the time,,sometimes I was at 4K and a few times I rolled it WOT and brought the R's up to 6.2K or so,,man its running awesome,,still breaking it in so cant wait!
Im going to break this one in a little different than I usually do,,will go easy with it and see how it turns out.
After its broke in I will do a top speed run on flat surface..see if I can catch Geh....I doubt it..lol

No problem! John is a member here..he is the best when it comes to quality parts,,he tests all of them before he sells them,,this is great because when it comes to CDI's and stuff he will tell you exactly what they do...and if your not happy with them he will take returns.

Taotao make a decent scooter,,mine had a few issues with cross threaded bolts and so on..I was thinking to go into the scooter business too,,but with proper PDI and all that time,,would it really be worth it? You really need a good lawyer and insurance company if you are going to rent out these scooters man..everybody and anybody is looking to make a $$ on somebody for a mistake...even if its not your mistake. Just make sure you do all your homework before jumping into a scooter rental business. As for sleeping when dead,,I think thats when life just starts when we die

I recommend the cylinder kits from " gy6racingteam " on eBay. If you are getting the OEM replacement head for a stock chinese scooter you are always going to pay a little more if you buy it from scrappy or a USA seller. They seem to stand behind the product more than if ordered from China,,but I guarantee you thats its the same quality,,just wont get the customer service and faster shipping if you buy from china. If I where you I would get a Taiwan made head for your scooter,,and yes gy6racingteam has good stuff,,the BBK I just installed is from them and it was really good quality. Check out gy6store out of Denver Carolina,,I got a bunch of stuff from them and its all great quality and prices. John here on the site sells really good parts too...I like to buy a little from everybody,,my main dealers are those three. Tom

Nice but rubbing alcohol will evaporate quickly and if it does leak down through the valves it will dry very fast so you wont see it.
I would use an oil based solvent like wd-40,rem oil, break free clp,or a mixture of oil and gas to do the combustion chamber leak test myself.
Glad its coming along,,and yes always save your old parts,,never know when you will need studs or a spacer.Stinks,,I just ordered 2 dowels for my motor and then I found the ones I thought where lost in the bottom of the jug..lol

150s are fun!! I just finished putting on my big intake,,had my buddy mill it so its about 3/4"shorter,,carb fits nice in there now,,its not right up against the crossbar like it was..still trying to break in the new rings but its way too cold out here in Jersey.

Yeah,, Good spark, good fuel delivery to carb inlet, clean jets and spray ports, good compression,,should run..lol Clean out that tank real good and check your compression...maybe you have a stuck ring causing blowby?

I think Im going to take the intake to my buddy today so he can shorten the inlet by about 1/2" with his milling machine,,hopefully he can get it clamped in a vise straight enough to cut it down. Its in there now but the float bowl is right up against the cross bar and Im afraid with time it will wear a hole in it...all I need is a 1/4" man 1/2" would be choice.

Wow awesome video! I think it was starving for more fuel when it was cutting out..just my guess..I would try a better pump or electric pump,,the stock pets are junk if your running one,,also just gravity feeding can get iffy especially at those R's.
I want to get an electric pump and also a better tach than the stock one..

Maybe you just knocked a wire off the coil or something when you where changing the belt.
Drain the tank all the way and dump a bottle of alcohol through it,,might have had water in that bad fuel.
Do like Gerry said,,rule spark out, then fuel flow to carb, and compression..if it still doesn't run might have sucked up some dirt into the pilot or main.
