well i got it out and rode it today, and this baby runs like a DREAM! I am VERY happy with the outcome of my project!...after riding a little bit the starter turned over enough to start it also, so hopefully after a little bit of ride time and breaking in the compression will drop a little bit and start easier! but good lord, this thing will nearly flip you off the back of it after you take off from a dead stop! i was amazed by the increase in power the airsal kit gave me!, i have to let off the throttle just a hair once i get up to about 30-35 to keep accelerating because i think the # main jet may be a little too much, but i can deal with it. and these stock roller weights are working extremely well so id like to know what size they are so i can switch to sliders and get even MORE performance out of it, but im not sure what weight i need to get and i think you have to go down one gram from the weight your rollers are if your switching to sliders?...maybe even a lighter variator and gates belt, what are the advantages of getting a performance variator and powerlink belt? my scooter now has a "tapping" in the engine so i guess im gonna have to adjust both valves to .003 instead of the .004 i had the exhaust set at. i dont think it will hurt anything tho. so noone ever answered whether the high compression will cause any issues with my engine if i leave it like this, does anyone know?? #HAPPYWITHMYSCOOTER

If your carb is running empty it's not a carb problem, you probly have a bad fuel filter or petcock. I believe they come stock with 18mm carbs but if your gonna upgrade go with a keihan 19mm

So the high compression won't harm my engine? And yea it was my old scooter that the stud broke on...tomorrow I'll get to ride so hopefully this thing runs like a mad horse! Upgrades so far are a9 cam, airsal bbk, main jet, uni filter, blue cdi, Orange coil, ngk spark plug...I also had 5g koso sliders I installed before the bbk and I couldn't get any top speed because rpm's stayed real low in high gear, so I assumed they were too light and put my stock rollers back in. What's a good weight slider to use for 45mph top speed and good acceleration?

Well I really don't wanna take this all back apart, I mean it runs great and I got it done in about 2-3 hours but it's just a pain..especially the wrist pin clips I hate doing that! But anyway, well this actually damage my engine from just using my kick start, or having too much compression?? I haven't even drove it yet since I'm on house arrest I just installed the kite and started it and I can tell a major difference in just working the throttle with it on the stand..I'm sure this things gonna fly! I adjusted valves to .003 intake, and.004 exhaust with the A9 cam is that correct? ...and one last thing, should I have replaced the head studs, because I didn't (my kit didn't include any) and my last scooter that I did a bbk on when I was torqing down the nuts to 15 ft. Lbs. (I think that's right), I snapped one of the studs off at the base.

Ok, I know I'v heard this on here before but don't remember what to do....I just installed my airsal 50mm bbk in my scooter along with A9 cam and some other goodies, but now compression is too high for my electric start to work, so is there anything I can do to fix this without removing my head and putting on double gaskets?

I just bought 2 brand new scooters from proven power sports, a 50cc for my daily driver around town and a 150 so I had something to keep up with highway speeds on long trips to work etc...I really wanted the powermax but they were outta stock and wouldn't have any for 2 more weeks so they upgraded me to the Lancer for free. This is my only transportation so I needed it ordered asap so now I have a very nice brand new taotao Lancer I'm trying to find a new powermax with low miles to trade.....ALSO, riders please beware of all vehicles on, and off the road..I am just now recovering from a SEVERE wreck I was recently in on my last scooter coming home from work a few months ago. A farm tractor pulling a hay rake pulled out of a field in front of me and I hit him full speed! (No helmet)..totaled my ped and almost killed me, I was rushed to the ER in shock (fight or flight mode), had multiple surgeries, crushed my skull, had to get a metal plate, plastic surgery with over 150 stitches putting my face back together (doc said the farm equipment basically tried ripping my face off), several displaced teeth, a compound leg fracture with metal plate, fractured orbital socket, broken nose, hand and alot of road rash! I'm VERY lucky to be alive, doctors were amazed I survived after seeing me! I thank God everyday..I'm % healed now and finally ready to get back on the road, just wanted to remind everyone of what can happen and ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings! Have a good day..I tried posting a pic of the accident but I don't know if it'll work, if not message me if you'd like to see the outcome of the wreck.. Attachments:

So what would be the best things to start with going with the combo that I already have?..16'36 gears, uni filter, blue cdi, Orange coil...and what size slider should I start with? I also have an a9 cam I bought for my 50cc, Will it work on my 150?

Ok so let me take that back, they didn't have the powermax in stock so they upgraded me to the cy150-D (Tao Tao Lancer) which has 130/60/13 tires instead of the 12's. So which tire upgrade along with the others I talked about, and any experience with these new scooters? Did I make a good choice on taking this instead of the powermax or was it a good deal?

I need the advice of some of you veteran mods that have years experience tuning scoots..I'v ordered a brand new powermax 150 and I'm aiming at 60-62 cruising speeds around 7200rpm with decent acceleration, I know it'll be harder on my engine and no I can't afford a 250 but any helpful advice will be much appreciated so I can have parts ordered by time my 150 arrives. Here is what I am working with so far..
All stock except 16'36 ncy gears, blue cdi, Orange coil, and 835 belt. 120/70/12 stock tires
What mods should I make as in..
Tire size? Which variator to upgrade to? What size slider weights?..(I think it comes w stock 13g) Clutch springs? Bigger carb and or jet size? Free flow air filter? Adjust valves to.004?
These are the things I can afford that I plan to change but only what's necessary to achieve my desired speed/acceleration/rpms, so like I said any helpful advice on what I only essentially need to change so I can order and have my performance parts here to upgrade when my scooter arrives and any and all advice is much appreciated! Thanks!

Does anyone know what the best bbk I should get for my 150cc gy6 powermax without having to bore the block is and what size I should get and from where? I was thinking maybe a 63mm but I'm not really sure. I just want the best bang for my buck and most reliable for around 150 dollars??

Did you adjust your timing right and readjust the valves?
