Ok, I know I'v heard this on here before but don't remember what to do....I just installed my airsal 50mm bbk in my scooter along with A9 cam and some other goodies, but now compression is too high for my electric start to work, so is there anything I can do to fix this without removing my head and putting on double gaskets?

A battery with more amps maybe. But if your compression is to high you may need to add the gasket to keep your motor from going BOOM.

You can try a stronger battery, same thing happened to Millsc just about a week ago. He got a battery with over 200 CCAs and it turned it over. Alleyoop

Airsal kits are designed for stock heads. I have the same setup, stock head-A9 cam, and it's fantastic. I think you must have a battery,or starter problem. One thing though, You can"t open the throttle while starting it. Get the carb right, and it will start without twisting the throttle. If you used the gaskets provided with the kit, It should not have too much compression.Mine has 190PSI.BTW, when you use a double gasket setup, It's the base gasket, not the head gasket ;D

Well I really don't wanna take this all back apart, I mean it runs great and I got it done in about 2-3 hours but it's just a pain..especially the wrist pin clips I hate doing that! But anyway, well this actually damage my engine from just using my kick start, or having too much compression?? I haven't even drove it yet since I'm on house arrest I just installed the kite and started it and I can tell a major difference in just working the throttle with it on the stand..I'm sure this things gonna fly! I adjusted valves to .003 intake, and.004 exhaust with the A9 cam is that correct? ...and one last thing, should I have replaced the head studs, because I didn't (my kit didn't include any) and my last scooter that I did a bbk on when I was torqing down the nuts to 15 ft. Lbs. (I think that's right), I snapped one of the studs off at the base.

You did everything right. You wont be dissapointed. You shouldn't need to kickstart it though. and a broken head stud!! that would cause leaking and LOW compression.Did you torque all 4 to 15 lb/ft?(were you saying that was the last scooter not this one)?

So the high compression won't harm my engine? And yea it was my old scooter that the stud broke on...tomorrow I'll get to ride so hopefully this thing runs like a mad horse! Upgrades so far are a9 cam, airsal bbk, main jet, uni filter, blue cdi, Orange coil, ngk spark plug...I also had 5g koso sliders I installed before the bbk and I couldn't get any top speed because rpm's stayed real low in high gear, so I assumed they were too light and put my stock rollers back in. What's a good weight slider to use for 45mph top speed and good acceleration?

Lok at my setup in the signature. The only difference is the jet, airbox, exhaust, and gearing.(you definitely need those for top end,) I'm very happy with my setup,Good acceleration.enough top end for me. And the best part is it will actually accelerate up hills I get right out into traffic and 45 MPH in no time.It will go faster, but I usually don't do that much (cops tickets etc. you know the drill) AND GET SOME GOOD TIRES!-you will need them

well i got it out and rode it today, and this baby runs like a DREAM! I am VERY happy with the outcome of my project!...after riding a little bit the starter turned over enough to start it also, so hopefully after a little bit of ride time and breaking in the compression will drop a little bit and start easier! but good lord, this thing will nearly flip you off the back of it after you take off from a dead stop! i was amazed by the increase in power the airsal kit gave me!, i have to let off the throttle just a hair once i get up to about 30-35 to keep accelerating because i think the # main jet may be a little too much, but i can deal with it. and these stock roller weights are working extremely well so id like to know what size they are so i can switch to sliders and get even MORE performance out of it, but im not sure what weight i need to get and i think you have to go down one gram from the weight your rollers are if your switching to sliders?...maybe even a lighter variator and gates belt, what are the advantages of getting a performance variator and powerlink belt? my scooter now has a "tapping" in the engine so i guess im gonna have to adjust both valves to .003 instead of the .004 i had the exhaust set at. i dont think it will hurt anything tho. so noone ever answered whether the high compression will cause any issues with my engine if i leave it like this, does anyone know?? #HAPPYWITHMYSCOOTER
