oil is full, and gas is good im percent sure. just checked valves and they are spot on. i spoke with tvnacman and he has been a huge help in guiding me through diagnosing the problem btw.. and his conclusion is crank bearing shot from over torquing the top end when i installed my 50mm kit over the winter. i used a torque wrench i bought from harbor freight, its kinda generic and doesnt always click like it should so even though i thought i followed the specs, i couldve done this wrong. i pray this is something other than crank or crank bearings tho, god help me, i dont have the time or the money for that right now.

i was coming home from work today, going about 40 mph wot and i all of a sudden started deccellerating while holding wot, i took out my earphones and heard a loud knocking sound and instantly thought my scoot was blown up and airsal bbk was shot. i let off the throttle to halfway and noise went away and it was cruising steadily. i came to a stop and put it on the big kickstand to try to locate the noise, i opened up the throttle and to my surprise i heard nothing but a perfectly purring engine. so i held the rear brake and applied throttle to add a load and still no knocking. i took off again and this time it ran and drove like nothing was ever wrong, up to 45 mph was fine untill i slowed down enough while entering city limits about 30 mph and throttle again and the noise came back! its not a constant knock, only here and there while accelerating so i dont think its the piston but i dont know. why does it run perfect when im stopped and its running on the kickstand? i got home took tranny cover off, and everything is intact, everything was operating properly running with cvt cover off, so i checked compression which is 130. i think it was around 160 when i installed the kit over the winter. what is wrong?? someone help me

just looked at my carb and its a sealed carb so i cannot do any adjustments, will it be ok with the exhaust and the other stuff or do i need to order a new keihin? its burning great right now with the bbk, cam, uni filter, and the 92 main jet..but i just switched in a jet, ordered the exhaust, and plan on getting a bigger pilot jet.

also jerryscript, i looked up the advancing cdi's you recommended and there are several different ones, could you be more specific about which one would be best for my setup and that would definately work on my 50? i had a bigger gold one before from ebay that they claimed worked on 50-150cc but it only worked on my 150. im not sure if my scoot is ac or dc, i would imagine its ac, and it has the 2 plugs (one 4 pin and one 2 pin i believe)

great! thank you guys, im not messing with all the tear down and having to have new gears pressed in to swap them out tho. i ordered 16/37 or something close to that from ncy and still have them brand new that i got for my 150 but didnt realize what you had to go through to swap them. so im stuck with a 60 dollar final drive set i cant use. i ordered the 1.5 spring kit and hope it does well with my new dr pulley 8g sliders i just got, cuz i cant really afford to order another 2 or 3 sets of 30 dollar sliders lol. i think ill wait untill i have the extra money and just get the hoca head when i can, and if i remember correctly i believe they told me on here these airsal kits run better with stock heads anyways. so as for the clutch, do you think i will be ok with just new springs or what would the benefit of the ebay performance clutch and bell be?..besides better cooling/...and last but not least, what size pilot jet should i upjet to? i was thinking 40? i have an old carb off my 150, i think its a 24mm, could i use that on my 50 and just order some kind of intake adapter or would it just be a waste of time?

i have my taotao 50cc with quite a bit done so far, and im looking to top it off this weekend. so far i have a airsal 50mm bbk, performance exhaust, a9 cam, 8g sliders, 19mm carb with main jet, ngk plug and orange coil, and uni filter. so now id like to get these things, but first id like to know exactly what i should get and where the best deal is at. im looking for a big valve head to go with my bbk, but what size and where do i get it?? ebay? i also need a performance variator and clutch, not sure about which clutch springs i should get either, whats the difference? i need some help on which cdi i should buy, casoli blue or gold? iv had the blue racing cdi (not the casoli one) and it failed on me after 2 months and the gold one wouldnt work on my 50, only worked on my 150. maybe a different belt?...you guys are the experts, please help me out and if theres anything im forgetting that would help me get max acceleration and top speed please share! so far iv topped out at 48 gps, with just the bbk, cam, and carb. but im aiming for 45-50 steady cruising at 7500-8000 rpm. also, i just changed from a 92 main jet to a , after doing this and adding the exhaust i just ordered, should i adjust the air/fuel mix? spark plug was burning BEAUTIFULLY before i just upped to the , so idk. it has a little big of a bog after first taking off around 10 mph before i get into high gear if im holding wot, if i just let off throttle about a quarter turn its ok, i was thinking maybe i need a bigger pilot jet too? if so what size?? thank you all very much, i appreciate any and all help

i top out at 50mph gps, at about 9000 rpm's with my stock rollers, but usually cruise at 45 around 7000 so as to not blow my engine all to . i tried 5g sliders and they were so light it wouldnt shift into high gear so im not sure what size i should go with, maybe 8-9g sliders?
