My issue is , if this guy is such a " master mechanic" , doesn't he know you need the keys to fix the thing ? No you don't, you only need a screwdriver to start it. If you are talking about jumping the scoot at the starter. You still need to turn the ignition on . my scoot will not start with the ignition off. Yes they can manipulate the ignition bit the ignition would need to be taken out and rewired.

I'd like to see the CVT working . it may just be broken bands in the tire , but something just dosent seem right. I've never seen a back wheel bounce that much. Or a video from the rear. We can see it the tire is moving side to side or up and down.

OOPS! You're right about that. I was a bit bleary eyed when I wrote that at just about 2 in the morning and was thinking instead that 0.6 mile = 1 kilometer but it didn't get put down like that. I have this sccoot. Its KM. Ditch the stock rubber for some decent rubber and get your tires balanced or use some RideOn tire balancing/sealing gel. Also watch out for a bent rotor. Mine was bent from factory. Took some serious machine work to remove and install a new one. Drilling and tapping isnt fun on a new bike. Upside is i now have hefty bolts on my rotor instead of lousy M8.. He has rear drum brakes , so a bent rotor is out. That rear wheel is really bouncing .

From what I could see in the video, it seems like an out of balance tire is the likely cause. The rim seemed to be running true and it is a newer bike with no damage or mishaps mentioned. BTW, could you tell if the odometer is showing miles or kilometers. To know for sure, travel a known mile and see if it shows one full mile traveled or if it shows closer to 0.6 mile traveled. This won't help much of the speedo is off like most .

I have 2014 Tao Tao Lancer 150cc Ive noticed that its a little bumpy at higher speeds.. here is a video of the stationary scooter and how it bounces. Any Ideas? It is newer only 200 miles ? Did you buy it new ? Or did you just get it ? The reason I ask is because of you bouht it new , and it just started doing this , then it probably not a balancing issue .

While I'm in this thread and because I don't have school anymore...do you guys have any ideas for any fun/cheap mods I can to to make my scoot run better or look cooler? I'll be really bored when not working and I figure I'll do something constructive. I'm already planning on a uni but I don't know what else to do. Maybe some LEDs? It's a 2007 Jacket 150s with a completely stock GY6 engine...I know it's a pretty cheap scooter but I'll mainly just be put-putting around on it anyways Look around your house for things that aren't on a scooter, then put them on! I've hooked up TVs, underbody lights, usb chargers, lighters, radios, comm. devices (2 way radios and handsfree setup for phones), CB radios, christmas lights, plasma balls, extra horns, car horns, anything with a 12v power input, just get creative! Just get it to go 80mph and you'll turn heads ,lol

Plug was fouled very black with soot on the part thats not in the hole. Weird. Why is it all black? Cleaned it last week. Wait a minute , your plug was fouled and you just cleaned and gapped it ? Toss the plug and buy a new one . you really need to fix the broken exhaust stud , and if the plug was oily ,you have other issues. You have oil reaching the plug , and you need to find were its coming from . you could have a bad head gasket or the rings could be leaking oil . possibly even a bad valve seal.

geh3333 Well i went to two stores looking for that super clean degreaser. I didnt find any. So i looked up the base ingredient and it was sodium hydroxide. That is the main ingredient in oven degreasers too so i bought that instead. I tried using it on the lense but it had no effect. I did see the foam yellowing up but i think these lenses have been in the sun wayyyy too long. The degreaser seems to have fogged part of the lense now, hopefully i can remove it, if not, its not a big deal. Replaced the gear oil today and assembled some of the trim. Reattached the valve cover. My lock shipment arrived today in my state. Hopefully its sent out for delivery this morning and will delivered a day earlier than expected. Cant wait I think im going to go ahead and respray the plastic fairings. Anyone have any ideas for colors? I was thinking a dark grey top with the silver bottom. Hopefully i can match the silver paint on the bottom enough to keep the Roketa logo. As for the top, i want to completely get rid of the hydraulic suspension and Z - BIKE decals. These are all the parts along with the associated costs that have come along so far. New igntion Lockset 15.99 2x Black Trim Paint 15.98 Hi Temp RTV 7.49
80w90 Gear Oil 4.19 Feeler Gagues 3.99 Fuses 3.49
Zip Ties 2.99 1 gal of octane gas 2.80 10w40 4t Engine Oil Free (stored) Dot 3 Brake Fluid Free (stored) 2 part Epoxy Free (stored) Brake Cleaner Free (stored) If i want to repaint the fairings im going to have to use minimum 4-6 cans of paint @ Subtotal: $56.92 +Tax around 4.50 each Adding another $27.00
If you already sanded them, I doubt it would have helped clean at all. I wonder if there was something else in the oven cleaner that fogged them up ? I suggest setting the valves to a tight .004 and .004 . just make sure the .005 can not fit into the exhaust valve gap. The bigger the gap , the least amount of time the valves stay open , letting in air and fuel and letting out the exhaust.

Could also be the float may need adjusted . you could be running out of fuel in the carb bowl.
