HA! I've put over 57 MILLION MILES on my scoot (with regular oil changes) and I'm just breaking it in! My secret is that I sneak in at night while the scoot's asleep and turn the odometer back, so it wakes up everyday thinking it's brand new! I tried that , but it seems my piston rings would not stay seated.

Lol. I thought about that exact scenario , but I think leaving it this way actually keeps the needle valve in good shape. Or at least that's my theory, lol

That looks pretty cool so its just attached to the existing cover? I'm gunna have to try this Wonder if i could just use some sort of epoxy It might work . I had to grind the inside of the elbow so it would fit over the part of the fan cover that sticks out. Or you can just cut that part off the fan cover . I ended up just grinding the inside of the elbow and used screws to screw the elbow to the part that sticks out.

That's an odd belt size . does anyone know if that's normal for those scoots ? He says its a long case . and if I'm not mistaken its made in China .

Many think that that's an abs unit. But on your model scoot " the throw away model " its a self destruct mechanism. No need to put the scoot in the trash , just set the self destruct mechanism to disintegrate and your done. Case closed.

Almost time to think about changing the pads in the front brake. BUT THERE AREN'T ANY CALIPER BOLTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Instead, there are 2 rubber things where bolts should be. Anyone have any experience with this thing? Lol, nice . my caliper slides over the rotor and then bolts to the shocks . instead of changing the break pads , your suppose to buy a new scoot. Its a throw away model. One time use only .

Lol...I take it apart when I work on it obviously. I just dont wanna have to deal with a manual petcock if I dont need to as it would be kind of a pain to access. And knowing how forgetful I am I'd forget about it all the time I get what you're saying now, and I agree that having the vacuum actuated petcock is nicer. I never turn mine off , unless I am working on fuel line or whatnot. Other then that it stays open. The flaot valve shuts the fuel off at the carb when the bowl is full . no need to turn the manual valve off.

I don't use the little brackets anymore to hold it on . I found a better way to screw it to the fan cover that looks better .

Here is a pic from a few years ago , . And this is a little further away . its the same scoot , I just repainted it. . An even older pic with bondo on the fan cover , lol. The scoot fell over , . Newer pic , scoot with bigger tires and before I hit the deer!! . you should get an idea how it fits.

The fan scoop is for the cooling shroud. I don't like the ones they sell because they don't stick out far enough to catch extra air. I like using a 45 degree 4 inch male / female plumbing elbow. Paint it black and it sticks out just far enough to pick up air like a ram air setup , but for cooling. They do help . when riding down the road at , let's say 60mph , you get that wind forced into the fan and into the shroud. do you have a picture of this? I'm intrigued Yes ,give me a second.

I think that's pretty much as timed as possible on these motors? I mean I checked it over and over and over, as timing being off led me to the complete tear down, didn't want to risk that again. That being said, I think I've found the culprit. That damn orange adjustable cdi box. I put the original back on and it seems to start much quicker and even start when warm, but until the idle enrichment circuit closes off, it idles funny, so it likely just needs tuning. revving to about 6000 rpm it starts choking out with either cdi, i did the kill-the-engine-at-WOT test and the plug is white on the tip. So probably need to up-jet from the 125 that came with it? I don't think this engine parts combo creates much vacuum and therefore needs a bigger fuel port to compensate. But I could be very wrong about that. I'll try a 130 and see if the float is horizontal. Also, while I had the covers off I removed the stator magnet and turns out every bolt needed a bit more torque, like a quarter- to half-turn per bolt, and the oil leak appears to be gone. I assume that's part of the rebuild break-in, but this is new to me and oil on the ground isn't ever a good thing. I'll update if I find anything new. Do you have a gravity fed fuel system ? If so , remove the vaccum petcock, and install a manual shutoff valve. You can also use wider fuel line. This would eliminate all need for any vacuum.

Bad Nuff we have the deal with cell phone distracted, Blind Ignorant drivers. I so much enjoy (no so much my Scooter issue but my CBR) making a Nice Run (A Pace), a Buck Comfortable Buck Ten or so, Round a Nice Corner and to my Delight My Lane (line) Completely Covered in Fresh Juicy Thick Fresh Cut Fescue Grass Blown by a Home Owner. Life Flashes before your Eyes as you Slide into a Nice Two Wheel Drift just Waiting for Her to Regain Grip and High Side me. K, I just pulled off a Rossi move and Survived, Clean Snit from Pants. I had confronted several home owners in Texas were I came from, holding back gently informing them that I have a Bad Azz Texas M/C Attorney on Retainer and He Will Beat your Attorney. Was only Bermuda or St. Augistine Grass in Texas, Juicy, Lush, Sweet Fescue is like Grease Here in the Foot Hills of the Smokey's of NC, well, well. Deep Breaths. k, Still Glad to be in Dixie Land! Do they tar and chip the roads out there ? They do it here !!!! Its ok for cars , but not for 2 wheels . its like riding on Pee gravel !! Even after a few weeks , the middle of each side of the road " where the tires don't usually ride on " are still loose , so its very dangerous around turns.
